1876: Rangers are beaten 4-0 by Vale of Leven in a Friendly at Millburn Park.

1882: David Hill and R.Ramsay score for Rangers who are beaten 6-2 in a Friendly by Queen’s Park.

1893: Rangers beat Dumbarton 4-0 in a League clash at Ibrox. Hugh McCreadie (2) and Robert Marshall are the only known goalscorers.

1899: Rangers beat Third Lanark 5-0 in the Glasgow Cup 1st Round Replay thanks to 2 goals each from RC Hamilton and Alec Smith and 1 from John Graham. The Gers would meet Queen’s Park in the Semi-Final.

1901: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Hibs at Ibrox.

1905: Rangers secure their Glasgow Semi-Final place with a 2-1 victory over Clyde in the 1st Round Replay. A goal each from Alec Smith and John McFie see the Light Blues come from behind to set-up a Tie with Third Lanark.

1911: Alex Bennett scores the only goal of the game with a penalty as Rangers beat Clyde 1-0 in the Semi-Final of the Glasgow Cup. The Ibrox men would face Partick Thistle in the Final.

1916: Rangers are beaten 3-0 by Celtic at Parkhead in the Glasgow Cup Semi-Final.

1922: Rangers are held to a 0-0 draw against Morton at Ibrox.

1924: Geordie Henderson nets a brace as Rangers defeat Partick Thistle 2-0 in the Glasgow Cup Semi-Final Replay. Celtic would provide the opposition in the Final.

1933: Bob McPhail scores the only goal on the 12th minute as Rangers defeat Dundee at Ibrox.

1936: Despite going ahead on 12 minutes through Davie Kinnear, Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in a Friendly at Highbury.

1939: Alex Venters is on target as Rangers are beaten 4-1 by Falkirk in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1944: Rangers are beaten 4-1 by Hibs at Easter Road. Jimmy Smith had Rangers ahead inside 18 minutes. Jimmy Caskie netted twice for the Hibees.

1950: Rangers are narrowly defeated 3-2 by Celtic at Parkhead with Willie Rae and Willie Thornton on the scoresheet for the visitors.

1959: Rangers secure safe passage through the European Cup 1st Round with an away 2-0 victory over Anderlecht in the 2nd Leg. Goals from Ian McMillan and Andy Matthew saw the Gers progress 7-2 on aggregate to face Red Star Bratislava in the 2nd Round.

1961: Alex Scott equalises on 13 minutes as Rangers draw 1-1 with St Mirren at Love Street.

1967: Andy Penman grabs the winner 7 minutes from the end as Rangers defeat Falkirk 1-0 at Brockville.

1970: Alex MacDonald, Graham Fyfe and John Greig all score to hand Rangers a 3-1 2nd Leg win over Hibs in the League Cup Quarter-Final. The Gers moved on 6-2 on aggregate to play Cowdenbeath in the Semi-Final.

1972: Tommy McLean scores from the penalty spot to earn Rangers a 1-0 victory over Falkirk at Ibrox.

1978: Derek Johnstone and Derek Parlane are on the scoresheet as Rangers draw 2-2 with Morton at Cappielow. Ally Scott is on target for the Ton.

1981: John McDonald scores the solitary goal as Rangers beat Brechin 1-0 in the League Cup Quarter-Final 2nd Leg. The win gave Rangers a 5-0 aggregate victory and set-up a clash with St Mirren in the Semi-Final.

1987: Rangers seal their Final spot in the League Cup with a 3-1 Semi win over Motherwell. Goals from Kirk (OG), Robert Fleck and Mark Falco see the Gers come from 1 down to claim victory. The Light Blues would meet Aberdeen in the Final. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W682otarcw

1989: Rangers draw 1-1 with Dunfermline at East End Park. Ally McCoist put Rangers in-front on the 11th minute.

1990: Richard Gough is appointed Club Captain of Rangers. The Armband had been stripped from Terry Butcher following a disagreement between himself and Graeme Souness.

1995: Rangers are beaten 1-0 at home to Hibs.

1998: Rod Wallace levels up as Rangers can only draw 1-1 at Aberdeen.

2000: Michael Mols scores to earn Rangers a 1-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

2006: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Celtic at Parkhead.

2007: A goal each from Lee McCulloch, Steven Naismith and Kris Boyd earns Rangers a 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox.

2009: Goals from Steven Naismith and Nacho Novo gives Rangers a 2-1 victory over Queen of the South in the League Cup 3rd Round. The Light Blues would meet Dundee in the Quarter-Final.
