1877: 2 goals from Willie Dunlop and 1 from Peter Campbell earns Rangers a 3-0 Friendly victory over South Western at Kinning Park.

1883: Billy McGregor nets a hat-trick as Rangers defeat Third Lanark 5-0 in a Friendly at Kinning Park. John Inglis and Alex Hamilton were also on the mark for the home side.

1888: William Aird and Tom Wylie score as Rangers draw 2-2 with Clyde in the Scottish Cup 2nd Round at Barrowlfield.

1894: Goals from John Barker, John Gray and John McPherson aren’t enough to prevent Rangers from slipping to a 5-3 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead.

1900: Rangers defeat Celtic 4-3 in the Replayed Glasgow Cup 1st Round at Ibrox. Goals from Donald Cameron, RC Hamilton (2) and RC Campbell sets-up a Semi-Final with Third Lanark.

1976: Rangers draw 3-3 with Clydebank at Ibrox in the League Cup Quarter-Final. Derek Johnstone, Johnny Hamilton and Alex MacDonald were all on the scoresheet for the Light Blues. Davie Cooper levelled for the Bankies late on to force a Replay.

1979: A goal from Derek Johnstone and an OG from Glennie sees Rangers win 2-0 over Dundee at Ibrox.

1982: Davie Cooper hits 4 as Rangers thrash Kilmarnock 6-1 in the 1st Leg of their League Cup Quarter-Final at Rugby Park. John McDonald also scored twice for the visitors.

1984: Ally McCoist and Cammy Fraser are on target as Rangers defeat Morton 2-0 at Ibrox.

1990: Despite going ahead through Mo Johnston after 5 minutes, Rangers suffer a 2-1 defeat by Dundee Utd at Tannadice. Terry Butcher also scored an OG.

1993: Mark Hateley nets the winner as Rangers defeat Celtic 1-0 in the League Cup Semi-Final at Ibrox. The Light Blues had Pieter Huistra sent-off, but still moved on to play Hibs in the Final.

1994: Gary Stevens’ time at Rangers comes to a close and moves to Tranmere for £350,000.
