1968: Rangers Manager Davie White was forced to take a training session at the White City Greyhound track! Due to the Albion being under redevelopment, the boss secured the nearby facility.

1972: A Colin Stein hat-trick and a goal each from Alex MacDonald and Graham Fyfe earns Rangers a 5-2 Friendly win over Stjarn Komb in Sweden.

1974: Rangers draw 0-0 with Karlstad in a Friendly.

1981: Rangers hammer Oland 5-0 in a Friendly thanks to goals from Colin McAdam, John McDonald (2), Davie Cooper and Jim Bett.

1986: It was no cakewalk as Rangers drew 1-1 with Battenburg in a Friendly. Colin West grabbed the Light Blues’ equaliser.

1987: Rangers wrap up their tour of Switzerland with a 1-1 draw against Lausanne-Sports. Robert Fleck was on target for the Gers. The Ibrox men left with just 1 defeat and 3 victories.

1992: A crowd of just 700 was present to witness goals from Paul Rideout, Mark Hateley and Ally McCoist give Rangers a 3-1 win over Queen’s Park in a Friendly at Hampden.

1997: Rangers sign goalkeeper Antti Niemi from Copenhagen for £700,000.

1998: The Dick Advocaat regime begins with a 5-3 win over Shelbourne in the UEFA Cup 1st Qualifying Round 1st Leg, at Prenton Park. After going 3 down, 2 goals each from Jorg Albertz and Garbriel Amato and 1 from Giovanni van Bronckhorst saw Rangers take a victory back to Ibrox.

2003: Rangers are beaten 2-1 in a Friendly by Jahn Regensburg. Christian Nerlinger had equalised for the Light Blues.

2006: Rangers defeat Middlesbrough 1-0 in a Friendly at Ibrox thanks to a first-half goal from Thomas Buffel.

2008: Nacho Novo scores the only goal with 10 minutes remaining to give Rangers a 1-0 Friendly win over Clyde.

2015: Rangers fans get their first glimpse of Mark Warburton’s side as the Light Blues are defeated 1-0 in a home Friendly against Burnley. Earlier in the day, the Gers confirmed they had agreed terms to bring Jason Holt to Ibrox following a trial period with the Club.

2016: Rangers defeat East Stirlingshire 3-0 at Ochilview in the League Cup Group F. An Andy Halliday penalty and goals from Josh Windass and debutant Joe Dodoo saw the Gers make it 3 wins out of 3.

2017: A stunning Niko Kranjcar free-kick earns Rangers a 1-1 draw with Marseille in a Friendly at Ibrox.

2018: Steven Gerrard makes his 10th signing as Rangers Manager: Ryan Kent on a season-long loan from Liverpool.

1971: A goal from John Greig after 25 seconds and 1 from Tommy McLean with 15 minutes to go gives Rangers a 2-1 win over Organte in the Gothenburg Jubilee Alliance Tournament 3rd Place Play-off.

1983: Rangers kick-off their Swedish tour with an 11-0 hammering of Arlovs. Ally McCoist and John McDonald both netted hat-tricks with Dave McPherson, Bobby Russell, Sandy Clark, Ian Redford and Robert Prytz also on the scoresheet.

1987: Rangers continue their tour of Switzerland with a 3-2 win over Wettongen. An Ally McCoist brace and a goal from Graeme Souness sees the Gers emerge victorious.

1994: Rangers sign Brian Laudrup from Fiorentina for £2.5 million.

1995: Rangers begin their pre-season with a 2-1 win over Brondby. Mark Hateley and Paul Gascoigne were on the scoresheet for the Gers.

1999: Goals from Gio van Bronckhorst, Barry Ferguson and Bould (OG) hands Rangers a 3-1 win over Sunderland in Ian Ferguson’s testimonial.

2000: Rangers are beaten 3-1 in a Friendly by Livingston. Billy Dodds is the Light Blues’ goalscorer.

2001: Claudio Caniggia is on target for Rangers as they go down 2-1 to Anderlecht in John Brown’s testimonial.

2007: Rangers draw 1-1 with Falkirk in a testimonial match for Alex Totten. Lee McCulloch had the Light Blues ahead inside the first minute.

2009: Christian Dailly signs for Charlton after the expiry of his Rangers contract.

1971: Rangers are narrowly defeated 4-3 by GAIS in the 1st Round of the Gothenburg Jubilee Alliance Tournament. Derek Johnstone, Willie Johnston and Alfie Conn all scored for the Light Blues. The Gers would face Organte the next day in the 3rd place play-off.

1981: Goals from John McDonald (2), Derek Johnstone and Willie Johnston hands Rangers a 4-1 win over Trelleborg in a Friendly.

1986: The first match of the Souness era, Rangers defeat Union Solingen 2-0 in a Friendly thanks to an Ally McCoist double.

1992: Rangers thump Queen of the South 7-1 in a Friendly thanks to goals from Ally McCoist, Mark Hateley (3), Ian Durrant, Pieter Huistra and Davie Robertson.

1993: Dale Gordon leaves Rangers to sign for West Ham in a £750,000 deal.

1996: Rangers come from behind to beat Clyde 3-1 in a Friendly at Broadwood thanks to goals from Ian Durrant, Erik Bo Andersen and Gordan Petric.

2002: Rangers complete their tour of New Jersey with a 1-0 defeat to Brazilian side Santos at Giants Stadium. The Gers had defeated NJC All-Stars and Reading Rage during their stay and had also been beaten 3-2 by River Plate.

1990: Rangers secure the signature of Mark Hateley who makes a £500,000 move from Monaco.

1999: A last minute Lasse Strand OG hands Rangers a 1-0 win over Rosenborg in a Friendly.

2000: 2 goals from Kenny Miller and 1 from Barry Ferguson helps Rangers to a 3-2 win over Ghent in a Friendly at Ibrox.

2003: Rangers compete in the Wernesgruner Cup, consisting of 2 matches of 45 minutes. The first, against Auerbach was won 5-1 courtesy of goals from Michael Mols (3), Nuno Capucho and Peter Lovenkrands. An 8th minute Ronald de Boer goal then saw the Gers defeat Erzgegirge 1-0. Both matches were played at the VFB Stadium, Auerbach.

2005: Peter Lovenkrands and Nacho Novo are on target as Rangers beat Ipswich 2-1 in a Friendly at Portman Road.

2008: Rangers’ German Tour is completed with a 1-0 loss to Schalke.

2011: Steve Davis grabs a brace to hand Rangers a 2-0 Friendly win over Blackpool.

2014: Darren McGregor and Ian Black score to give Rangers a 2-1 win over Sacramento Republic.

2016: Rangers defeat Annan Athletic 2-0 at Ibrox in the 2nd fixture of the League Group F. Goals from Barrie McKay and Martyn Waghorn maintained the Gers’ place at the top of the table. Clint Hill becomes Rangers’ oldest ever debutant, taking the record from Billy Thomson. Prior to the match, the Light Blues confirmed the signing of Joe Dodoo on a 4-year contract from English Premier League Champions Leicester City.

1938: Rangers sign Jock Shaw from Airdrie. In the next 16 years, “Tiger” would help the Club to 4 Scottish Leagues, 7 Wartime Titles, 3 Scottish Cups and 2 League Cups before retiring.

1978: John Greig takes his first training session as Rangers Manager. A notable absence was Derek Johnstone who was stranded in Ibiza after Flights were affected by strike action. Derek Parlane, who had earlier handed in a transfer request, had settled his differences with the Club.

1998: Gordon Durie and Jorg Albertz get the goals as Rangers defeat Falkirk 2-0 in a friendly.

1999: Rangers hammer Follese FK 10-0 courtesy of goals from Craig Moore, Michael Mols, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Rod Wallace, Jonatan Johansson, Gabriel Amato (3) and Gordon Durie (2).

2001: Goals from Tore Andre Flo, Claudio Caniggia and Neil McCann hand Rangers a 3-1 friendly win over Malmo.

2002: Rangers beat Reading Rage 4-1 in a friendly with goals coming from Tore Andre Flo, Barry Ferguson (2) and Shota Arveladze.

2004: Stefan Klos is named as the new Rangers Captain. The armband had previously been held by Craig Moore who had had the Captaincy stripped following a dispute with Manager Alex McLeish.

2006: Rangers’ tour of South Africa is completed with a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

2007: Rangers conclude their 3-match tour of Germany with a 1-0 loss to Hannover 96.

2009: Barry Ferguson leaves Rangers and seals a £1.2 million switch to Birmingham City.

2010: Rangers sell Kevin Thomson to Middlesbrough for £2 million.

2013: Lee McCulloch scores the only goal as Rangers beat Gutersloh 1-0 in a friendly in Germany.

2018: Rangers draw 0-0 with FK Skopje in the 2nd Leg of their Europa League 1st Qualifying Round tie in Macedonia. The Gers progressed 2-0 on aggregate to face Croatia’s Osijek in the next round.

1987: Rangers continue their pre-season tour of Switzerland with a 6-0 win over SR Delemont. A Robert Fleck hat-trick, 2 goals from Ally McCoist and 1 from John McGregor saw Rangers ease to victory.

1997: Brian Laudrup and Marco Negri score as Rangers are beaten 3-2 by Everton at Goodison Park in a Testimonial match for Dave Watson.

1998: Rangers sign Rod Wallace from Leeds on a free transfer. A deal is also agreed to bring Lionel Charbonnier to Ibrox from Auxerre for £1.2 million. On the same day, UEFA announce that the away leg of Rangers’ UEFA Cup tie with Shelbourne had been moved from Dublin to Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers.

2000: Rangers thump Alphense Boys 12-0 in a Friendly thanks to goals from Allan Johnston (5), Barry Ferguson (3), Neil McCann, Andrei Kanchelskis (2) and Kenny Miller.

2003: 2 Steven Thompson goals sees Rangers kick-off pre-season with a 2-0 win over Greuther Furth.

2005: Peter Lovenkrands and Ross McCormack are on target as Rangers beat Linfield 2-0 in a Friendly at Windsor Park.

2008: 2 goals from Kris Boyd and 1 from John Fleck sees Rangers come from 1-0 down to claim victory against Sportfreunde Lotte in the 2nd match of their Tour of Germany.

2009: Andy Wesbter moves to Dundee Utd from Rangers on a season-long loan.

2011: Rangers defeat Linfield 4-1 in a match that marked the 125th anniversary of the Belfast Blues. Goals from Juan-Manuel Ortiz, Nikica Jelavic, Kane Hemmings and Steven Naismith handed the Gers a win.

2014: Rangers confirm the termination of Scott Gallacher’s contract with the Club. The Goalkeeper later agrees to sign for Hearts.

2016: Goals from James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn help Rangers to a 2-0 win over Motherwell in the first match of the new-look League Cup at Fir Park.  The win saw the Gers take top position in Group F.
