1888: William Aird (2) is the only known goalscorer from Rangers’ 7-3 Friendly defeat at home to Renton.

1900: Johnny Campbell scores as Rangers suffer a 3-1 loss away at Queen’s Park in the Inter-City League.

1906: RC Hamilton equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Hibs in a League match at Ibrox.

1917: Jimmy Gordon scores the only goal as Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 at Ibrox.

1923: Geordie Henderson grabs a brace as Rangers defeat Clyde 2-1 at Ibrox.

1928: Rangers beat Albion Rovers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final at Cliftonhill. Andy Cunningham nets the winner to set-up a Semi with Hibs.

1934: Jimmy Smith is on target as Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 at Ibrox in the Quarter-Final of the Scottish Cup. The Light Blues would face St Johnstone in the Semi-Final.

1945: Jimmy Duncanson scores as Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw by Hibs in the Southern League Cup Group A, in Edinburgh.

1951: Rangers beat Falkirk 5-2 at Ibrox thanks to a Willie Findlay hat-trick and goals from Billy Simpson and David Marshall.

1954: Rangers draw 4-4 with Third Lanark at home in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round Replay. John Prentice had the Gers 2-0 up inside 7 minutes. Thirds hit back before Billy Simpson made it 3-1. The Ibrox side eventually found themselves 4-3 down with less than 3 minutes to go. Simpson scored again to force a 2nd Replay. George Young also missed a penalty for the Light Blues.

1956: Alfie Conn Snr is on the scoresheet as Rangers suffer a 4-0 loss to Hearts in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final at Tynecastle.

1962: A goal each from Ralph Brand, Jim Baxter and Alex Scott seals a 3-1 victory for Rangers against Third Lanark at Ibrox.

1965: Jim Forrest scores the winner as Rangers beat Inter Milan 1-0 at Ibrox in the European Cup Quarter-Final 2nd Leg. The Ibrox side went out 3-2 on aggregate.

1973: Rangers beat St Johnstone 2-1 at Muirton Park. Alex Miller opened the scoring before Joe Mason grabbed an 84th minute winner.

1979: Rangers come from behind to beat Ayr Utd 4-1 at Somerset Park in a Friendly with goals scored by Bobby Russell, Sandy Jardine (2) and Gordon Smith.

1984: Rangers draw 0-0 at home with Hibs.

1989: Rangers sign Mel Sterland for £750,000 from Sheffield Wednesday.

1990: Mo Johnston and Davie Dodds are on the mark as Rangers draw 2-2 with Dundee at Dens Park.

1992: Rangers defeat St Johnstone 3-0 in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final. Goals from Ally McCoist, Richard Gough and Mark Hateley booked a Semi-Final clash with Celtic.

1993: Pieter Huistra levels up on 72 minutes to earn Rangers a 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League Group A Match 3, in Belgium.

1996: A Mitchell OG and a Brian Laudrup penalty gives Rangers a 2-0 over Hibs at Easter Road.

1998: Ally McCoist scores on the half-hour mark to give Rangers a 1-0 win over Liverpool in a Testimonial for Walter Smith.

2001: Tore Andre Flo scores both goals as Rangers defeat Hearts 2-0 at Ibrox.

2002: A Lorenzo Amoruso penalty is enough to secure a 1-0 win for Rangers against Dundee Utd at Tannadice.

2012: Despite going in-front through Steve Davis, Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Hearts at Ibrox. Ian Black equalised for the Jambos.
