1879: David Hill scores as Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Third Lanark in a Friendly at Cathkin Park.

1890: Alex McFarlane (2) is the only known goalscorer from Rangers’ 3-1 Friendly win over the Thistle at Ibrox.

1902: Rangers suffer a 5-0 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead in the Inter-City League. Future Gers player and Trainer George Livingstone netted a hat-trick.

1913: A Robert Parker double and a goal from Dr James Paterson secures a 3-2 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

1919: David Brown, Sandy Archibald and Andy Cunningham hands Rangers a narrow 3-2 home win over Hearts.

1927: Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 2-1 at Hampden. Sandy Archibald equalised before George McMillan grabbed the winner. Tommy Cairns made his final Light Blues League appearance, 14 years after making his first.

1930: Rangers beat Montrose 3-0 in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final. 2 goals from Alan Morton and 1 from George Brown set-up a Semi-Final clash with Hearts.

1941: Rangers kicks-off their Southern League Cup Section 3 with a 4-0 victory over Falkirk thanks to goals from Scot Symon, Bobby Bolt, Jimmy Smith and Torry Gillick.

1947: A goal each from Willie Waddell and Jimmy Caskie seals a 2-1 home win for Rangers over Dundee Utd in the League Cup Quarter-Final 1st Leg.

1952: Rangers come from behind to defeat Stirling Albion 5-1 at Annfield with goals scored by John Prentice, Willie Waddell, Willie Rae, Sammy Cox and Willie Thornton.

1958: Rangers beat Dunfermline 2-1 in the 3rd Round of the Scottish Cup. Max Murray and Ralph Brand score to see the Gers come from 1-0 down to book a Quarter-Final with Queen of the South.

1960: Despite going 2-0 up through Eric Caldow and Ian McMillan, Rangers can only draw 2-2 with Aberdeen at Ibrox.

1961: Davie Wilson and Ian McMillan are on target as Rangers are beaten 5-2 by Motherwell in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round Replay.

1967: Dave Smith and Alex Willoughby get the goals as Rangers beat Real Zaragoza at Ibrox in the European Cup Winners’ Cup Quarter-Final 1st Leg.

1969: A 2nd minute John Greig penalty is enough to give Rangers a 1-0 win over Airdrie in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final. The Ibrox side would face Aberdeen in the Semi-Final.

1975: Rangers defeat Hearts 2-1 at Ibrox. Bobby McKean opened the scoring after 2 minutes although a last minute winner from Tommy McLean was necessary to seal the win.

1980: Derek Johnstone scores the only goal as Rangers beat Hibs 1-0 at Ibrox.

1986: Ally McCoist scores a hat-trick as Rangers defeat Hibs 3-1 at Ibrox.

1989: Ally McCoist and Gary McSwegan score for Rangers in their 2-2 draw with St Johnstone in a Testimonial match for Dougie Barron.

1996: Rangers sign Erik Bo Andersen from Aalborg for £1.5 million.

1997: Brian Laudrup and Craig Moore are on the scoresheet as Rangers are held to a 2-2 draw by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

2008: Rangers beat Aberdeen 3-1 at Ibrox courtesy of goals from Christian Dailly, Kris Boyd and Charlie Adam.

2014: Lee McCulloch scores a 93rd minute penalty as Rangers defeat East Fife 1-0 at Bayview.

2016: Harry Forrester and Lee Wallace are on target as Rangers defeat Raith 2-0 at Ibrox.

2017: Rangers defeat St Johnstone 3-2 at Ibrox. Barrie McKay and Martyn Waghorn had the home side 2-0 up, but an injury-time winner from Emerson Hyndman was required by the Light Blues. The Gers had Rob Kiernan sent-off.
