1893: John Barker is the only known goalscorer from Rangers’ 4-2 win over Morton in a Friendly at Cappielow.

1905: Rangers begin their Glasgow League fixtures with a 1-0 loss to Partick Thistle at Meadowside Park.

1916: Jimmy Gordon, Scott Duncan and Willie Reid are all on target as Rangers beat Airdrie 3-0 in a League match at Ibrox.

1922: A Sandy Archibald double and a goal from Jimmy Smith hands Rangers a 3-0 win over Morton at Ibrox.

1930: Rangers beat Queen’s Park 3-1 at Hampden with goals scored by Jimmy Fleming, Bob McPhail and Dr Jimmy Marshall.

1933: Bob McPhail scores twice as Rangers defeat Third Lanark 3-1 at Cathkin Park. Sam English was also on the mark.

1939 Willie Thornton and Alex Venters get the goals as Rangers beat Raith 2-0 in Kircaldy.

1944: Rangers kick-off their Southern League Cup Group A matches with a 4-2 win against Hearts thanks to goals from Jimmy Duncanson, Willie McIntosh (2) and Neil McKinnon.

1950: Billy Williamson and Willie Paton are on target as Rangers to give Rangers a 2-0 victory over Stirling Albion at Annfield.

1959: Despite going 2-0 up through Andy Matthew and Ian McMillan, Rangers are forced to settle for a 2-2 away at Hibs.

1961: Rangers beat Raith 3-2 at Stark’s Park. Ralph Brand had the Gers 2 ahead although a goal from Davie Wilson 12 minutes from the end was necessary to secure the points.

1967: Alex Willoughby scores 4 times as Rangers thump Motherwell 5-1 at Fir Park. Alex Smith was also on the scoresheet for the visitors. Willoughby increased his scoring record to 11 goals in his last 5 matches.

1968: Rangers beat Dundee 4-1 AET in the Scottish Cup 2nd Round Replay at Ibrox. Orjan Persson had opened the scoring but a Bobby Watson double and an Easton OG in Extra-Time were required to set-up a Quarter-Final with Hearts.

1972: A goal each from Sandy Jardine and Alfie Conn earns Rangers a 2-1 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

1974: Rangers suffer a 3-0 Friendly defeat to Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion.

1978: Rangers are beaten 3-0 by Aberdeen at Ibrox.

1995: Stuart McCall scores as Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw by Hibs in Edinburgh.

2000: Rangers draw 0-0 with St Johnstone at Ibrox. The match was the very first time that Rangers had fielded a starting XI without a single Scotsman. (Klos, Vidmar, Reyna, Amoruso, Numan, Kanchelskis, van Bronckhorst, Tugay, Albertz, Rozental and Wallace.)

2006: A goal from Kris Boyd and a Marc Twaddle OG secures a narrow 2-1 win for Rangers at Falkirk. Russell Latapy was on target for the home side.

2007: Charlie Adam nets a double as Rangers beat Hibs 2-0 at Easter Road.

2009: Ian Black scores a last minute penalty as Rangers are beaten 1-0 at home by Inverness. The Light Blues had Davie Weir sent-off.

2017: Joe Garner grabs a 2nd half hat-trick as Rangers thump Hamilton 6-0 in the Scottish Cup Quarter-Final at Ibrox. Martyn Waghorn, Jon Toral and Clint Hill also scored as the Gers set-up a Semi-Final clash with Celtic.
