1976: Rangers are beaten 2-1 by St Pauli in the 2nd match of their 2-game stay in Germany. Derek Johnstone was on target for the Light Blues.

1977: Rangers beat Ross County 4-0 in a Friendly thanks to goals from Derek Parlane, Alex MacDonald, Tommy McLean and Johnny Hamilton.

1980: Goals from Sandy Jardine and John McDonald (2) give Rangers a 3-1 win in the 1st Leg of their 1st Round Anglo-Scottish Cup tie with Partick Thistle.

1986: Rangers defeat Falkirk 3-1 in a Friendly. Cammy Fraser opened the scoring for the Gers before Bobby Wiliamson netted a brace.

1988: Ally McCoist equalises before Richard Gough scores an 83 minute winner against Raith in a Friendly. Gordon Dalziel had put Rovers ahead.

1995: Rangers beat holders Sampdoria 2-0 in the Final of the Ibrox International Challenge Trophy. Gordon Durie and Ally McCoist were on target for the host side.

1997: Rangers thump Faroese GI Gotu 6-0 in the Champions League 1st Qualifying Round 2nd Leg courtesy of goals from Gordon Durie, Marco Negri (2), Ally McCoist, Jorg Albertz and Ian Ferguson. McCoist also missed a penalty for the Light Blues. This win secured an 11-0 aggregate victory and set-up a clash with Gothenburg in the Preliminary Round.

2002: Goals from Billy Dodds and Tore Andre Flo earn Rangers a 2-0 win over Linfield in a Friendly.

2003: Rangers defeat Linfield 3-0 in a Friendly thanks to goals from Ronald de Boer, Andrew Dowie and Steven McLean.

2006: The le Guen era begins as Rangers open their League fixtures with a 2-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park. A goal each from Libor Sionko and Dado Prso got the Gers off to a winning start.

2008: Just over 2 months on from playing in a UEFA Cup Final, Rangers draw 0-0 with Kaunas in the Champions League 2nd Qualifying Round 1st Leg at Ibrox.

2011: Steven Naismith and Nikica Jelavic are on the scoresheet as Rangers beat St Johnstone 2-0 in a League match at McDiarmid Park.

2012: Sheffield Wednesday sign Rhys McCabe after the Midfielder has refused to transfer his Rangers contract. The 2 Clubs later agreed an undisclosed compensation settlement.

2016: Rangers are defeated 3-1 at Ibrox by Burnley, in a friendly. The Light Blues’ goal came from a  Mee OG.
