1889: John Allan and William McBain are on target as Rangers slump to an 8-2 defeat to Clyde in a Friendly.

1895: James Oswald is the only known goalscorer from Rangers’ 2-1 win over Hearts in a League match.

1901: 2 goals from David McDougall and 1 from Finlay Speedie hand Rangers a 3-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park.

1903: Rangers are defeated 2-1 by Clyde in a Friendly. Sadly the goalscorers are unknown.

1907: RG Campbell, John May, James Galt and George Livingstone are all on target as Rangers draw 4-4 with Falkirk in a League encounter.

1908: Tom Murray and George Livingstone score as Rangers draw 2-2 with Third Lanark in a benefit match for Tod Sloan.

1912: 2 RC Hamilton goals and 1 from Billy Hogg isn’t enough to secure a Rangers win as they draw 3-3 at home to Dundee. RC Hamilton is among the scorers for the visitors.

1918: William Aitken and David McLean score to hand Rangers a 2-0 victory over St Mirren at Ibrox.

1929: Rangers thump Falkirk 4-0 courtesy of goals from Jimmy Fleming, Dr James Marshall, McPherson and Tully Craig.

1932: Rangers hammer Third Lanark 5-0 thanks to 2 goals each from Jimmy Smith and Sandy Archibald and 1 from Bob McPhail.

1935: A Jimmy Smith brace and a goal from Bob McPhail sees Rangers come from 1 down to defeat Partick Thistle 3-1 at Firhill.

1937: Rangers progress to the Semi-Finals of the Glasgow Cup with a 3-1 victory over Clyde in the 1st Round. Goals from Alex Venters, Willie Thornton and Bobby Main set-up a Tie with Celtic.

1940: 2 goals from Jimmy Smith and 1 from Alex Venters earns Rangers a 3-1 win over Partick Thistle at Ibrox.

1946: Jimmy Duncanson scores twice as Rangers record a 2-0 win over Queen’s Park in the League.

1955: Rangers thump Celtic 4-0 in Section 4 of the League Cup. Goals from Max Murray, Sammy Baird (2) and Billy Simpson sees the Light Blues exact revenge for a 4-1 defeat to the Parkhead men at Ibrox just 4 days earlier.

1957: Rangers wrap up their League Cup Section 2 fixtures with a 4-3 loss to Raith. Alex Scott scored twice for the Light Blues with Johnny Hubbard also on the scoresheet. The Gers progressed to face Kilmarnock in the Quarter-Final.

1960: 2 goals from Jimmy Millar and 1 from Ralph Brand hand Rangers a 3-2 win over Third Lanark in the League Cup Section 2.

1963: Rangers conclude their fixtures in Section 4 of the League Cup with a 2-2 draw against Kilmarnock. Davie Wilson and Jim Forrest scored to give Rangers a lead they’d hold until the 88th minute. The Ibrox side moved on from the Section and were paired with East Fife in the Quarter-Final.

1966: Alex Smith equalises for Rangers as they draw 1-1 with Stirling Albion in the League Cup Section 2.

1968: Rangers defeat Morton 5-0 in Section 4 of the League Cup with goals scored by Sandy Jardine (2), Willie Henderson (2) and Andy Penman. 2 losses to Celtic meant the Light Blues could not qualify from the Section.

1974: Rangers kick-off their League fixtures with a 1-1 draw away at Ayr Utd. Sandy Jardine had put Rangers in-front from the penalty spot.

1977: A 2-2 draw in Switzerland sees Rangers secure safe passage through the European Cup Winners’ Cup Qualifying Round with a 3-2 aggregate win over Young Boys of Berne. Derek Johnstone, who was also sent-off, and Gordon Smith were on the scoresheet for the Light Blues. The Gers would face Twente in the 1st Round.

1983: 2 goals from Ally McCoist (including his first for the Club) and 1 each from Bobby Russell and Robert Prytz hand Rangers a 4-0 victory over Clydebank in the League Cup Section 2.

1985: Ally McCoist scores for Rangers as they draw 1-1 away to Celtic.

1986: Ian Durrant scores a 74th minute winner as Rangers defeat Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox.

1988: Goals from Ally McCoist, Mark Walters, Forsyth (OG) and Ian Ferguson gives Rangers a 4-1 win over Dundee in the Quarter-Final of the League Cup. The Ibrox side would meet Hearts in the Semi-Final.

1991: Mark Hateley scores both goals for Rangers as they see off Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead.

1994: Brian Laudrup is the Rangers goalscorer as they are shocked 2-1 by Falkrik in the League Cup 3rd Round.

2003: A goal each from Nuno Capucho, Shota Arveladze and Mikel Arteta secures a 3-1 win for Rangers at Dundee Utd. Billy Dodds scored for the Arabs.

2005: Rangers recruit Filippo Maniero from Torino and Olivier Bernard from Newcastle on Free Transfers. Francis Jeffers also heads to Ibrox on a Loan deal from Charlton. Michael Ball leaves the Gers and joins PSV for free, as does Dragan Mladenovic who signs for Red Star Belgrade. Sheffield Wednesday also sign Maurice Ross on a Free Transfer from the Light Blues. Zurab Khizanishvili joins Blackburn on loan whilst Charlie Adam heads for St Mirren.

2006: Rangers sign Sasa Papac from Austria Vienna for £450,000. Hamed Namouchi heads for the Ibrox exit door as he joins Lorient with the Light Blues receiving £500,000 in compensation. The contracts of Bob Malcom, Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan, Olivier Bernard and Marvin Andrews are all terminated.

2007: Rangers sign Steven Naismith on deadline day from Kilmarnock for £1.9 million. The Gers also beat English Premier League Clubs Portsmouth and Birmingham to bring Amdy Faye to Ibrox on loan for the season.

2008: A stunning Pedro Mendes effort is the pick of the bunch as Rangers take Celtic apart 4-2 at Parkhead. Daniel Cousin scores twice with Kenny Miller completing the scoring. Cousin was later dismissed in his final appearance for the Light Blues.

2010: Rangers agree a deadline day loan swap with Aberdeen that would see Richard Foster head to Ibrox and Andrius Velicka move in the opposite direction.

2011: Andy Little joins Port Vale on loan from Rangers.

2012: Carlos Bocanegra departs Rangers for a loan spell with Racing Santander.

2013: Lee McCulloch hits a hat-trick as Rangers demolish East Fife 5-0. Nicky Clark had opened the scoring within a minute and Lewis Macleod was also on the scoresheet.

2016: Rangers sign former Arsenal and AC Milan Defender Philippe Senderos on a free transfer, following a period on trial with the Club. The Swiss international agreed a 1-year deal. The Gers also confirmed that Andy Murdoch had left the Club on mutual consent.

2017: Rangers make their 3rd Loan signing of the Transfer window – Declan John from Cardiff City until the end of the season. Joe Dodoo headed to Charlton on loan for the season.
