1874: Rangers draw 0-0 with Star (Vale of Leven) in a Friendly at Flesher’s Haugh.

1885: Rangers thump Arthurlie 4-0 in a Friendly thanks to a George Sommerville double and a goal each from Sandy Marshall and John Muir.

1891: Rangers secure their Glasgow Cup Quarter-Final place with a 2-0 1st Round win over Third Lanark. Robert Fraser and Robert Marshall score to set-up a clash with Queen’s Park.

1896: Rangers thump Third Lanark 5-1 in the Glasgow Cup 1st Round. 2 goals each from Tommy Hyslop and Robert Crawford and 1 from James Oswald sees the Gers progress to the Semi-Final where they’d play Linthouse.

1898: Alec Smith and Bobby Neil are on target as Rangers defeat St Bernard’s 2-0 at Logie Green in a League encounter.

1903: An RC Hamilton hat-trick and 2 goals from John Walker earns Rangers a 5-1 win over Hearts at Ibrox.

1904: A goal each from RC Hamilton and RS McColl hands Rangers a 2-1 victory over Hibs.

1908: Rangers draw 1-1 with St Mirren at Ibrox. RG Campbell had put Rangers ahead on 15 minutes.

1910: Willie Reid scores all 4 goals as Rangers hammer Hearts 4-1 at Tynecastle.

1914: James Bowie is on the scoresheet as Rangers go down 2-1 to Hearts at Ibrox.

1921: Robert McDiarmid scores twice to give Rangers a 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

1925: Rangers hammer St Mirren 4-1 thanks to goals from Sandy Archibald, Tommy Cairns, Geordie Henderson and Robert McKay.

1927: Rangers defeat an East of Scotland Select 7-2 at Tynecastle courtesy of a Dr James Marshall hat-trick, 2 goals form James Hair and 1 from George McMillan.

1928: Rangers are beaten 7-2 by Kilmarnock in a benefit match for Mattha Smith. Jimmy Simpson and James Hair are on the scoresheet for the Light Blues.

1936: Rangers draw 1-1 with Celtic at Parkhead. Alex Venters opened the scoring for Rangers on the 18th minute.

1942: 2 goals from Torry Gillick and 1 from Charlie Johnstone hands Rangers a 3-0 victory at home to Albion Rovers.

1951: Rangers defeat Dunfermline 3-1 in the 2nd Leg of their League Cup Quarter-Final.  A Willie Findlay brace and a goal from William Gardiner sees Rangers win 3-2 on aggregate and would face Celtic in the Semi-Final.

1953: Rangers draw 1-1 with Celtic at Ibrox. Willie Paton was on target for the Gers.

1959: Rangers are beaten 3-0 at home to Ayr Utd.

1962: John Greig equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Dumbarton in the League Cup Quarter-Final 2nd Leg. The Light Blues go through 4-2 on aggregate and would play Kilmarnock in the Semi-Final.

1964: Despite going ahead through Jim Forrest on 4 minutes, Rangers are beaten 4-1 by Dundee at Dens Park.

1970: Rangers hammer Cowdenbeath 5-0 thanks to 2 goals each from Derek Johnstone and John Greig, and 1 from Alex MacDonald.

1973: Rangers play in their first European match since winning the Cup Winners’ Cup, away at Ankaragucu in Turkey. Alfie Conn and Tommy McLean were on the scoresheet to give the Gers a 2-0 victory.

1979: A goal each from Alex MacDonald and Tommy McLean earns Rangers a 2-1 victory over Fortune Dusseldorf in the European Cup Winners’ Cup 1st Round 1st Leg, at Ibrox.

1981: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Celtic at Ibrox.

1987: A Philliben OG hands Rangers a 1-0 victory over Motherwel at Fir Park.

1989: Rangers book their League Cup Final place with a 5-0 thumping of Dunfermline. Goals from Trevor Steven, Mo Johnston, Mark Walters, Ally McCoist and Ian Ferguson set-up a Final with Aberdeen.

1990: Goals from Mark Hateley, Ally McCoist and Mo Johnston (2) gives Rangers a 4-0 win over Valetta in the European Cup 1st Round 1st Leg.

1992: Stuart McCall and Ally McCoist grab a goal each to hand Rangers a 2-0 victory over Hearts at Ibrox.

1995: Ally McCoist scores the only goal as Rangers defeat Celtic in the League Cup Quarter-Final at Parkhead. The Gers would meet Aberdeen in the Semi-Final.

2004: Dado Prso scores as Rangers defeat Inverness 1-0 at Ibrox.

2007: Rangers kick-off their Champions League Group E fixtures with a 2-1 win over Stuttgart. Goals from Charlie Adam and Jean-Claude Darcheville sees Rangers come from 1-0 down to earn a victory.

2009: Rangers have Pedro Mendes sent-off as Rangers draw 0-0 with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

2015: A Martyn Waghorn double sees Rangers triumph 2-1 away at Dumbarton.
