1973: Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Hibs in the Drybrough Cup Semi-Final. Derek Parlane was on target for the Light Blues.

1975: Alex MacDonald and Graham Fyfe are on the scoresheet as Rangers beat St Mirren 2-0 in a Friendly at Love Street.

1977: Rangers defeat Nairn County 3-2 thanks to a goal each from John Greig, Alex MacDonald and Bobby Russell.

1978: Goals from John McDonald and Gordon Smith saw Rangers come from 2 down to draw 2-2 with Kilmarnock in a benefit match for Ian Falls.

1979: 2 goals from John McDonald hands Rangers a 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock in the Drybrough Cup Semi-Final. The Gers would face Celtic in the Final.

1980: John McDonald scores both goals as Rangers beat Arsenal 2-0 at Ibrox in a Friendly.

1981: Rangers suffer a 2-1 loss to Ipswich in a Friendly at Ibrox. Ally Dawson pulled a goal back with last minute penalty.

1983: Rangers beat West Brom 4-2 in a Friendly courtesy of goals from Robert Prytz (2), Luke (OG) and Bobby Russell.

1986: England defender Terry Butcher signs for Rangers from Ipswich for £725,000.

1987: Robert Fleck scores the only goal as Rangers defeat Real Sociedad in the Glasgow International Football Tournament Semi-Final. The Light Blues would meet Porto Alegre in the Final. On the same day, the Edmiston Club officially opened. £400,000 from the Rangers Pools had been invested in the venture, occupying the former Rangers Social Club. The Club would be open to 5,700 members of the Premier Club and 6,000 Rangers Pools Agents and included a restaurant, 3 bars, a function suite and a snooker room.

1990: Rangers agree a deal to sign Pieter Huistra from Twente. On the same day, Derek Ferguson leaves the Light Blues to sign for Hearts in a £750,000 deal.

1991: Rangers sell Tom Cowan to Sheffield Utd for £350,000.

1992: Rangers begin the defence of their League Title with a 1-0 victory over St Johnstone. Ally McCoist netted the winner 10 minutes from the end as the Gers kicked off what would be a remarkable season. John Spencer’s time at Rangers comes to an end as he moves on to Chelsea for £450,000.

1994: Rangers draw 1-1 with Ikfast in a Friendly. Basile Boli scored the 70th minute equaliser for the Ibrox side.

2001: 2nd half goals from Tore Andre Flo and Claudio Caniggia (2) hand Rangers a 3-1 win over Maribor in the 2nd Leg of their Champions League 2nd Qualifying Round 2nd Leg. Rangers moved on, 6-1 on aggregate, to face Fenerbahce in the next Round.

2003: Jerome Bonnissel leaves Rangers to join Fulham on a Free Transfer.

2004: Rangers triumph 8-7 on penalties following a 0-0 draw with Feyenoord in the 3rd place play-off of the Newcastle Gateshead Cup.

2007: Rangers add Steven Whittaker to their squad, signing the Hibs Defender for £2 million. Libor Sionko exits and joins Copnehagen for £90,000.

2009: Madjd Bougherra scores the only goal against PSG to secure Rangers’ place in the Emirates Cup Final with Arsenal.

2012: Salim Kerkar signs for Charlton on a Free Transfer from Rangers.
