1874: Rangers draw 0-0 in a Friendly with Oxford, of Glasgow.

1877: Rangers defeat Caledonian 4-0 in a Friendly at Kinning Park thanks to a Sandy Marshall brace and goals from Peter Campbell and Willie Dunlop.

1885: Jimmy Gossland is on target as Rangers go down 3-1 to St Mirren in a Friendly at Westmarch Estate.

1891: Neil Kerr scores the only goal as Rangers beat Hearts 1-0 in a League match at Tynecastle.

1903: Rangers beat Kilmarnock 4-0 in the Scottish Cup 2^nd Round with goals scored by John Walker (2), Jacky Robertson and Angus McDonald. Neilly Gibson also missed a penalty as the Light Blues progressed to meet Celtic in the Quarter-Final.

1920: Rangers are held to a 0-0 draw at home by Dumbarton in the 1^st Round of the Scottish Cup.

1925: 2 goals from Sandy Archibald and 1 from Geordie Henderson gives Rangers a 3-1 win over East Fife in the Scottish Cup 1^st Round at Bayview. Montrose would provide the 2^nd Round opposition.

1931: Despite going on 6 minutes through Bob McPhail, Rangers are forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with St Mirren at Ibrox.

1948: Willie Thornton scores the decisive goal as Rangers defeat Stranraer 1-0 at Stair Park in the Scottish Cup 1^st Round.

1953: Rangers beat Arbroath 4-0 in the Scottish Cup 1^st Round courtesy of goals from Johnny Hubbard, John Prentice, Willie McCulloch and Billy Simpson. The Ibrox side would face Dundee in the 2^nd Round.

1959: Max Murray grabs the winner after just 16 minutes to secure a 1-0 victory for Rangers at home against Dunfermline.

1962: 2^nd half goals from Ralph Brand and Jimmy Millar sees Rangers come from behind to beat Partick Thistle 2-1 at Ibrox.

1970: An Alex MacDonald double and a goal from Andy Penman earns Rangers a 3-1 1^st Round win over Hibs in the Scottish Cup. The Gers would meet Forfar in the 2^nd Round.

1973: Goals from Alex MacDonald and Quinton Young aren’t enough to prevent Rangers from being beaten 3-2 by Ajax in the 2^nd Leg of the inaugural European Super Cup. The Dutchmen emerged victorious 6-3 on aggregate.

1976: A goal each from Alex MacDonald, Martin Henderson and Johnny Hamilton seals a 3-0 win over East Fife in the Scottish Cup 3^rd Round. The Ibrox men went through to play Aberdeen in the 4^th Round.

1981: Rangers thump Airdrie 5-0 in the Scottish Cup 3^rd Round thanks to goals from Gregor Stevens, Ian Redford, Jim Bett and Derek Johnstone (2). The Light Blues moved on to play St Johnstone in the 4^th Round.

1987: Rangers draw 0-0 with Aberdeen at Ibrox.

1998: Rangers defeat Hamilton 2-1 at Douglas Park in the Scottish Cup 3^rd Round. Gordon Durie equalised before Richard Gough grabbed a last minute winner. The Gers would meet Motherwell in the 4^th Round.

2004: Christian Nerlinger scores the only goal in Rangers’ 1-0 win against Livingston at Ibrox.

2009: Rangers can only draw 0-0 with Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
