On this day – June 17th

1902: Rangers are beaten 3-2 AET by Celtic in the British League Cup Final. Finlay Speedie and RC Hamilton were on the scoresheet for Rangers. This Competition was held to raise funds for those bereaved by the Ibrox Disaster a couple of months previous. Everton and Sunderland were the other participants.

1984: Rangers draw 1-1 with Stuttgart in the 2nd of the 2-match Toronto Sun Sesquicentennial Series. Eric Ferguson had put Rangers ahead.

2003: Rangers confirm the signing of Nuno Capucho from Porto on a 2-year deal, costing £700,000.
