1881: David Hill is the only known goalscorer from Rangers’ 2-0 win over Thornliebank in the Scottish Cup 4th Round.

1887: Robert Brand scores 4 as Rangers cruise to a 5-0 victory over Third Lanark in a Friendly. Robert Fraser was also on target.

1892: Rangers were leading Abercorn 3-0 in a League match at Ibrox when the game was abandoned due to bad light on 81 minutes. John Barker and Cuthbertson (OG) are the only known goalscorers.

1898: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Queen’s Park in the Final of the Glasgow Cup. Nick Smith scored an OG.

1904: Rangers suffer a 3-0 defeat away at St Mirren.

1910: 2 goals from Billy Hogg and 1 from Willie Reid secures a 3-0 victory for Rangers over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

1921: Tommy Cairns is on the mark as Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw at home by Dumbarton.

1927: Rangers come from 1-0 down to beat Hibs 4-1 at Ibrox. Goals from Andy Cunningham and Jimmy Fleming, and 2 from George McMillan saw the Gers to victory.

1929: Rangers secure the signing of 20 year-old Goalkeeper James “Jerry” Dawson from Camelon Juniors. He would go on to earn the nickname “The Prince of Goalkeepers,” playing nearly 500 times for the Light Blues (including wartime football), until his departure to Falkirk in 1946.

1932: Rangers thrash Morton 6-1 with goals coming from Davie Meiklejohn, Bob McPhail, Sam English, Dr James Marshall, Jimmy Fleming and Jimmy Smith.

1938: A goal each from Alex Venters, Willie Waddell and Bob McPhail earns Rangers a 3-1 win away at Hearts. Venters also missed a penalty.

1949: Joe Johnson scores the winner 5 minutes from the end as Rangers beat St Mirren 1-0 at Ibrox.

1955: Rangers overturn a 1-0 deficit to beat Hearts 4-1 courtesy of goals from Don Kitchenbrand (2), Billy Simpson and Sammy Baird.

1960: Rangers defeat Dundee Utd 4-0 thanks to goals from Ian McMillan, Jimmy Millar (2) and Alex Scott.

1966: Jim Forrest equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with St Johnstone at Muirton Park.

1969: Rangers are beaten 3-1 in Poland by Gornik Zabrze in the European Cup Winners’ cup 2nd Round 1st Leg. Orjan Persson was on the scoresheet for the visitors.

1975: Rangers beat Dundee Utd 4-0. Goals from Derek Johnstone, Derek Parlane, Alex MacDonald and Colin Jackson sealed the win.

1977: Despite going ahead through Derek Johnstone, Rangers are forced to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Celtic.

1983: Rangers are beaten 3-0 by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

1985: An Ally McCoist brace hands Rangers a 2-1 win over Queen’s Park in the Glasgow Cup 1st Round. The Light Blues progressed to face Celtic in the Final.

1988: Mark Walters scores from a penalty as Rangers go down 3-1 to Celtic at Parkhead. Terry Butcher also scored an OG.

2000: Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-1 at Pittodrie. Kenny Miller levelled the scores before Michael Mols grabbed the winner.

2008: Rangers draw 0-0 with Motherwell at Fir Park.
