1877: Rangers equal their record winning margin, set the previous month v Possilpark, with a 13-0 thrashing of Uddingston in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round. Goals from Sandy Marshall (4), James Watson (4), Moses McNeil (2) James Campbell, Peter Campbell and David Hill set-up a 4th Round clash with Vale of Leven.
1883: Sadly, the goalscorers remain unknown from Rangers’ thumping 6-0 Friendly win over Dunblane.
1888: Jimmy Wilson scores for Rangers as they are beaten 3-1 in a Friendly by Cambuslang.
1894: Rangers defeat Partick Thistle 5-3 in the Glasgow Cup Semi-Final Replay with goals coming from John Gray (3), John Cowan and John McPherson. The Light Blues would face Celtic in the Final.
1900: Rangers secure the Glasgow Cup with a 3-1 win in the Final against Partick Thistle. A goal each from John McPherson, RC Hamilton and Jacky Robertson saw the Trophy heading back to Ibrox.
1906: Archie Kyle and George Law get the goals as Rangers beat Third Lanark 2-0 at Cathkin Park in a League match.
1917: A Jimmy Gordon brace and a goal from Sandy Archibald hands Rangers a 3-0 victory away at Hearts.
1923: Davie Meiklejohn and Tommy Muirhead are on the scoresheet in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Third Lanark at Ibrox.
1928: Jimmy Fleming nets a hat-trick as Rangers thump Falkirk 4-1 at Brockville. Jock Buchanan was also on the mark.
1933: Rangers sign Scotland International Inside-Left Alex Venters from Cowdenbeath. Including wartime football, he would go on to score 198 goals in 384 appearances before moving on to Third Lanark in 1946, at the conclusion of the Second World War.
1934: Rangers cruise to a 5-1 win over Albion Rovers thanks to a Jimmy Smith hat-trick and goals from Bob McPhail and Alex Venters. Venters also missed a penalty.
1945: Rangers defeat Queen of the South 4-2. A Murdo McCormack brace and goals from Joseph McMaster and Torry Gillick see the Gers to victory in Dumfries.
1951: A Willie Thornton hat-trick and goals from Joe Johnson and Willie Findlay hands Rangers a 5-1 victory over St Mirren at Ibrox.
1956: Sammy Baird pulls 2 goals back as Rangers go down 3-2 at home against Motherwell.
1962: John Greig is the Rangers goalscorers as they are beaten 2-1 away at Dundee Utd. Walter Carlyle was on target for the Arabs.
1973: John Greig grabs the winner as Rangers defeat Morton 1-0 at Ibrox.
1979: Despite going ahead through Alex Forsyth, Rangers are beaten 2-1 by St Mirren at Love Street.
1982: Jim Bett and Derek Johnstone are on the mark as Rangers beat Hearts 2-1 in the League Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg. The Light Blues progressed 4-1 on aggregate to face Celtic in the Final.
1983: Jock Wallace returns to Rangers to take-over as Manager. Motherwell had not been keen to lose their Boss and a £120,000 compensation package was necessary.
1984: Goals from Cammy Fraser and Davie Cooper earns Rangers a 2-2 draw with Hibs at Easter Road.
1986: John Paton resigns as Rangers Chairman. He had held the post since 1983 and was said to be making way because of Business reasons. He was to be replaced by David Holmes, who had served as Chief Executive since Lawrence Marlbrough had become owner of the Club.
1990: Ally McCoist scores for Rangers as they are beaten 2-1 by Dundee Utd at Ibrox. McCoist had also missed a penalty.
1993: Rangers beat Dundee 3-1 at Ibrox. Ian Ferguson opens the scoring before Ally McCoist grabs a brace.
2002: Goals from Michael Mols and Shota Arveladze secures a 2-1 win for Rangers over Hibs at Ibrox.
2004: Rangers beat Celtic 2-1 in the Quarter-Final of the League Cup. Dado Prso equalised on 85 minutes before Shota Arveladze scored the winner in Extra-Time. The Ibrox side would face Dundee Utd in the Semi-Final.
2010: Rangers are beaten 3-0 at home by Hibs.
2012: Lee McCulloch and Lee Wallace score to give Rangers a 2-0 win over Peterhead at Ibrox.
2016: Rangers announce that the Club had parted company with Joey Barton, who later re-joins Burnley.
