1881: John Inglis scores the winner as Rangers beat Vale of Leven 1-0 in a Friendly, at Kinning Park.

1885: Unfortunately, the goalscorers remain unknown from Rangers’ 2-1 Friendly win over the 5th Kircudbrightshire Rifle Volunteers.

1887: Rangers secure their place in the Glasgow Cup 2nd Round with a 2-0 win over Third Lanark in the 1st Round Replay. Goals from Robert Brand and John Muir set-up a tie with Pollokshields.

1892: Rangers defeat Linthouse 3-2 in the 2nd Round of the Glasgow Cup. David McPherson and John McPherson are the only known Rangers goalscorers. The Gers would meet Queen’s Park in the Quarter-Final.

1898: A goal each from RC Hamilton and John Wilkie earns Rangers a 2-1 victory over Dundee in a League match at Carolina Port.

1904: Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Celtic in the Final of the Glasgow Cup. RC Hamilton had given the Gers a 5th minute lead. Future Ranger Alex Bennett levelled for the Parkhead side.

1910: Rangers win another Glasgow Cup with a 3-1 win over Celtic in the Final. Alec Smith, Alex Bennett and Willie Reid all grabbed a goal each for the Light Blues.

1921: Rangers are defeated 2-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle.

1925: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Celtic in the 1st Round 2nd Replay of the Glasgow Cup.

1927: Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Celtic in the Glasgow Cup Final. Andy Cunningham pulled a goal back for the Light Blues.

1932: A Jimmy Smith brace and a goal from Bob McPhail hands Rangers a 3-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park.

1938: Alex Venters scores both goals as Rangers are held to a 2-2 draw away at Falkirk.

1949: Rangers are shocked 2-1, after extra-time, by Scot Symon’s East Fife in the League Cup Semi-Final. David Marshall scored an 84th minute equaliser for the Ibrox men.

1955: Max Murray, Sammy Baird and Johnny Hubbard (2) all score as Rangers draw 4-4 with Airdrie at Ibrox. Remarkably, all 8 goals came in the 2nd half.

1960: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Dundee at Ibrox.

1966: Rangers thump Falkirk 5-0 with goals scored by Davie Provan, Jimmy Millar, Willie Henderson, Willie Johnston and Alex Smith. Millar became the first substitute to be used by the Gers in a League match when he replaced Jim Forrest in the 2nd half.

1975: Rangers come from 1-0 down at half-time to thrash Montrose 5-1 in the League Cup Semi-Final. Goals from Derek Parlane, Derek Johnstone, Alex Miller, Ally Scott and Sandy Jardine sets-up a Final clash with Celtic.

1977: Bobby Russell scores the winner on 73 minutes as Rangers beat Dundee Utd 1-0 at Tannadice.

1983: John McClelland nets the winning goal after 13 minutes to secure a 1-0 win for Rangers over Hibs at Ibrox.

1986: Rangers leave it late as Davie Cooper scores 2 minutes from time to earn the Light Blues a 1-0 win over St Mirren.

1988: Rangers are defeated 2-1 by Aberdeen. Neale Cooper had put the Gers in-front before Jim Bett equalised for the Dons.

1991: Rangers beat Hibs 4-2 thanks to goals from Ally McCoist (2), Pieter Huistra and Tortolano (OG).

1994: Despite going ahead through Basile Boli, Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Hibs at Easter Road. Boli was later sent-off.
