1881: Rangers suffer a 1-0 loss to Dumbarton in a Friendly at Boghead.

1887: Alick McKenzie is the only known scorer from Rangers’ 2-0 Friendly victory away at St Bernard’s.

1898: Despite going ahead through Alec Smith, Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Dundee in a League match at Carolina Port.

1916: A Jimmy Gordon double sees Rangers come from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Hearts in Edinburgh.

1921: A goal each from Tommy Cairns and Geordie Henderson earns Rangers a 2-1 win at Dundee.

1924: Geordie Henderson grabs both goals as Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 2-0 at Hampden.

1927: Jimmy Fleming and Alan Morton score twice each as Rangers beat St Mirren 4-0 at Ibrox.

1938: 2nd half goals from John Reid and Bob McPhail (2) sees Rangers come from behind to defeat Queen of the South 3-1 in the Scottish Cup 2nd Round. The Gers would face Falkirk in the Quarter-Final.

1944: Willie McIntosh scores a hat-trick as Rangers beat Hamilton 4-1 at Douglas Park. Neil McKinnon was also on the mark for the visitors.

1949: Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Pittodrie. Willie Thornton opened the scoring after 45 seconds before Willie Paton grabbed a 2nd.

1955: Willie McCulloch equalises as Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw at home by St Mirren.

1963: John Lawrence is appointed Chairman of Rangers following the death of John Wilson.

1966: Goals from George McLean and Jorn Sorensen secures a 2-0 victory for Rangers over Hibs at Ibrox.

1972: Dave Smith nets the winner on 84 minutes as Rangers beat Dundee Utd 1-0 at Ibrox.

1973: Rangers call a meeting of Scottish Clubs to propose new measures of modernisation of the Scottish game, spearheaded by Willie Waddell. Amongst the proposals made to the 20 Clubs represented was a new £1,000 prize for the Country’s top goalscorer and to introduce a rule that would see teams not rewarded with a point for 0-0 draws. Some welcomed the suggestions although it was thought that there would be too many hurdles to make the proposals reality.

1977: Despite going 2-0 up inside 20 minutes through Colin Jackson and Alex MacDonald, Rangers suffer a 3-2 defeat at home to Dundee Utd.

1979: Rangers beat Motherwell 3-1 in the 3rd Round of the Scottish Cup. A goal each from Derek Johnstone, Colin Jackson and Davie Cooper set-up a 4th Round tie with Kilmarnock.

1983: Rangers thump Morton 5-0 at Cappielow thanks to goals from Jim Bett (2), John McDonald and Andy Kennedy (2).

1994: Gordon Durie and Trevor Steven are on target in Rangers’ 2-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox.

1995: Billy Dodds is on the scoresheet as Rangers are beaten 2-0 away at Aberdeen.

2005: 2 goals from Dado Prso and 1 from Thomas Buffel earns Rangers a 3-0 victory against Hibs at Ibrox. Nacho Novo also missed a penalty.

2006: Rangers are beaten 1-0 at home by Celtic.

2011: Rangers thrash Motherwell 6-0 at Ibrox with goals scored by Nikica Jelavic (3), Steven Naismith, David Healy and Hutchinson (OG).

2017: Rangers defeat Morton 2-1 at Ibrox in the 5th Round of the Scottish Cup, under Caretaker Manager Graeme Murty. A goal each from Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn sets-up a Quarter-Final with Hamilton.
