1897: Rangers beat Partick Thistle 4-2 at Inchview in the Scottish Cup 1st Round courtesy of goals from Tommy Hyslop, Nick Smith (2) and Neilly Gibson. The Gers would meet Hibs in the 2nd Round.

1904: Rangers are narrowly beaten 5-4 away at St Mirren. RC Hamilton and Alec Mackie both scored twice each for the Light Blues. The match is notable for 4 penalties being awarded, 3 for St Mirren and 1 for Rangers. All 4 were converted with Hamilton scoring for the Light Blues.

1909: Rangers suffer a 4-0 loss against Dundee at Dens Park.

1915: Tommy Cairns scores in Rangers’ 2-1 defeat at home to Clyde.

1926: Goals from Alan Morton, Jimmy Fleming and Tommy Cairns earns Rangers a 3-3 draw with Hamilton at Douglas Park.

1932: Jimmy Fleming grabs both goals as Rangers win 2-0 against St Mirren at Love Street.

1937: Rangers ease to a 4-0 win over Arbroath thanks to goals from Bob McPhail, Jimmy Smith (2) and 16 year-old Willie Thornton who got his first for the Club. Thornton’s goal made him the Club’s youngest ever scorer, a record which still stands today at 16 years and 312 days.

1943: Jimmy Duncanson scores the only goal as Rangers beat Dumbarton 1-0 at Ibrox.

1954: Willie Paton’s goal is enough to give Rangers a 1-0 victory over St Mirren in Paisley.

1960: Rangers defeat Ayr Utd 4-2 with goals coming from Jimmy Millar (2), Bobby Hume and Ian McMillan.

1965: A Jim Forrest hat-trick and a goal from Jimmy Millar seals a 4-0 win for Rangers over Dundee at Ibrox.

1982: Jim Bett scores the only goal from the penalty spot to secure a 1-0 victory for Rangers against Celtic at Ibrox.

1988: A hat-trick from Ally McCoist and an Ian Durrant double sees Rangers take a 5-0 win against Morton at Ibrox.

1989: Gary McSwegan scores as Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Gretna in a benefit match for the Lockerbie Disaster Fund.

1993: 2 goals from Ally McCoist sees Rangers progress from the Scottish Cup 3rd Round with a 2-0 win over Motherwell. Ayr Utd would be their 4th Round opposition.

2005: Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Celtic in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round at Parkhead. Fernando Ricksen had equalised for the Gers.

2009: Chris Burke leaves Rangers on a Free Transfer for Cardiff City.

2017: Rangers sign Emerson Hyndman on loan from Bournemouth for the remainder of the season.
