1878: Charlie McQuarrie and William Struthers are the only known goalscorers from Rangers’ 3-0 win over Alexandria Athletic in the Scottish Cup 4th Round. The Gers would meet Partick in the 5th Round.
1889: Alex McFarlane and John Allan score twice each as Rangers beat Partick Thistle 5-2 in a Friendly. Tom Wylie was also on target for the Light Blues.
1895: A goal each from James Oswald, Robert Marshall and John Barker gives Rangers a 3-1 victory over Dundee in a League match.
1901: An RC Hamilton brace and a goal from David McDougall earns Rangers a 3-2 Friendly win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
1907: Archie Kyle nets a hat-trick as Rangers defeat Third Lanark 5-3 at Cathkin Park. Jimmy Spiers and RC Hamilton were also on the scoresheet.
1912: Rangers go down 2-0 to Falkirk at Brockville thanks to 2 late goals.
1929: Jimmy Fleming scores both goals as Rangers are held to a 2-2 draw by Morton at Cappielow.
1934: After 17 years at Rangers, Sandy Archibald retires. Signed from Raith Rovers, he helped the Gers to 12 League titles and a Scottish Cup before leaving to take charge of his former Club.
1935: Rangers come from behind to beat Kilmarnock 2-1 at Ibrox. Bobby Main equalised for the Gers before Alex Venters grabbed the winner.
1940: Rangers suffer a 1-0 loss away at Hibs.
1946: Goals from Jimmy Duncanson, Chris McNee and Willie Thornton hands Rangers a 3-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle.
1957: Max Murray, Sammy Baird and Harold Davis are on target for Rangers in their 3-3 draw with East Fife.
1960: Ralph Brand becomes the first Rangers player to score a hat-trick in Europe as Rangers thrash Borussia Monchengladbach at Ibrox in the European Cup Winners’ Cup Quarter-Final 2nd Leg. Jim Baxter, Alex Scott, Harold Davis and Jimmy Millar (2) were also on the mark for the home side. The Gers progressed 11-0 on aggregate and would play Wolves in the Semi-Final of the inaugural competition.
1963: Rangers are beaten 3-0 by Hearts at Ibrox.
1968: Despite going ahead through Colin Stein, Rangers can only draw 1-1 with Airdrie at home.
1974: Rangers beat Dundee Utd 4-2 with goals coming from Sandy Jardine (2), Derek Parlane and Tommy McLean.
1983: Davie Cooper scores the only goal as Rangers beat St Mirren 1-0 at Love Street in the final match of the League Cup Section 2. The Gers moved on to meet Dundee Utd in the Semi-Final.
1987: Rangers sign Ray Wilkins from Paris St-Germain.
1989: Rangers secure the signature of Nigel Spackman who joins the Light Blues for £500,000 from QPR. Ray Wilkins heads in the opposite direction.
1991: Dale Gordon and Richard Gough get the goals as Rangers defeat Motherwell 2-0 at Fir Park.
1995: Rangers agree a deal to sign Derek McInnes for £300,000 from Greenock Morton.
2000: Jorg Albertz scores the 88th minute winner as Rangers beat Kaiserslautern in the UEFA Cup 3rd Round 1st Leg at Ibrox.
2003: Stephen Hughes scores in the final few minutes to seal a 1-0 win for Rangers over Hibs in Edinburgh.
2013: Late goals from Nicky Law and David Templeton gives Rangers a 2-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish Cup 4th Round. Lee McCulloch had missed a penalty. The Ibrox men progressed to play Dunfermline in the 5th Round.
2014: A Nicky Law double and a goal from Kris Boyd secures a 3-0 win for Rangers over Kilmarnock in the Scottish cup 4th Round. Raith Rovers would be the opposition in the 5th Round.
2016: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle.
