1907: RG Campbell, John May, James Galt and George Livingstone are all on target as Rangers draw 4-4 with Falkirk in a League encounter.

1957: Rangers wrap up their League Cup Section 2 fixtures with a 4-3 loss to Raith. Alex Scott scored twice for the Light Blues with Johnny Hubbard also on the scoresheet. The Gers progressed to face Kilmarnock in the Quarter-Final.

1960: 2 goals from Jimmy Millar and 1 from Ralph Brand hand Rangers a 3-2 win over Third Lanark in the League Cup Section 2.

1963: Rangers conclude their fixtures in Section 4 of the League Cup with a 2-2 draw against Kilmarnock. Davie Wilson and Jim Forrest scored to give Rangers a lead they’d hold until the 88th minute. The Ibrox side moved on from the Section and were paired with East Fife in the Quarter-Final.

1966: Alex Smith equalises for Rangers as they draw 1-1 with Stirling Albion in the League Cup Section 2.

1968: Rangers defeat Morton 5-0 in Section 4 of the League Cup with goals scored by Sandy Jardine (2), Willie Henderson (2) and Andy Penman. 2 losses to Celtic meant the Light Blues could not qualify from the Section.

1974: Rangers kick-off their League fixtures with a 1-1 draw away at Ayr Utd. Sandy Jardine had put Rangers in-front from the penalty spot.

1977: A 2-2 draw in Switzerland sees Rangers secure safe passage through the European Cup Winners’ Cup Qualifying Round with a 3-2 aggregate win over Young Boys of Berne. Derek Johnstone, who was also sent-off, and Gordon Smith were on the scoresheet for the Light Blues. The Gers would face Twente in the 1st Round.

1983: 2 goals from Ally McCoist (including his first for the Club) and 1 each from Bobby Russell and Robert Prytz hand Rangers a 4-0 victory over Clydebank in the League Cup Section 2.

1985: Ally McCoist scores for Rangers as they draw 1-1 away to Celtic.

1986: Ian Durrant scores a 74th minute winner as Rangers defeat Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox.

1988: Goals from Ally McCoist, Mark Walters, Forsyth (OG) and Ian Ferguson gives Rangers a 4-1 win over Dundee in the Quarter-Final of the League Cup. The Ibrox side would meet Hearts in the Semi-Final.

1991: Mark Hateley scores both goals for Rangers as they see off Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead.

1994: Brian Laudrup is the Rangers goalscorer as they are shocked 2-1 by Falkrik in the League Cup 3rd Round.

2003: A goal each from Nuno Capucho, Shota Arveladze and Mikel Arteta secures a 3-1 win for Rangers at Dundee Utd. Billy Dodds scored for the Arabs.

2005: Rangers recruit Filippo Maniero from Torino and Olivier Bernard from Newcastle on Free Transfers. Francis Jeffers also heads to Ibrox on a Loan deal from Charlton. Michael Ball leaves the Gers and joins PSV for free, as does Dragan Mladenovic who signs for Red Star Belgrade. Sheffield Wednesday also sign Maurice Ross on a Free Transfer from the Light Blues. Zurab Khizanishvili joins Blackburn on loan whilst Charlie Adam heads for St Mirren.

2006: Rangers sign Sasa Papac from Austria Vienna for £450,000. Hamed Namouchi heads for the Ibrox exit door as he joins Lorient with the Light Blues receiving £500,000 in compensation. The contracts of Bob Malcom, Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan, Olivier Bernard and Marvin Andrews are all terminated.

2007: Rangers sign Steven Naismith on deadline day from Kilmarnock for £1.9 million. The Gers also beat English Premier League Clubs Portsmouth and Birmingham to bring Amdy Faye to Ibrox on loan for the season.

2008: A stunning Pedro Mendes effort is the pick of the bunch as Rangers take Celtic apart 4-2 at Parkhead. Daniel Cousin scores twice with Kenny Miller completing the scoring. Cousin was later dismissed in his final appearance for the Light Blues.

2010: Rangers agree a deadline day loan swap with Aberdeen that would see Richard Foster head to Ibrox and Andrius Velicka move in the opposite direction.

2011: Andy Little joins Port Vale on loan from Rangers.

2012: Carlos Bocanegra departs Rangers for a loan spell with Racing Santander.

2013: Lee McCulloch hits a hat-trick as Rangers demolish East Fife 5-0. Nicky Clark had opened the scoring within a minute and Lewis Macleod was also on the scoresheet.

2016: Rangers sign former Arsenal and AC Milan Defender Philippe Senderos on a free transfer, following a period on trial with the Club. The Swiss international agreed a 1-year deal. The Gers also confirmed that Andy Murdoch had left the Club on mutual consent.

1924: Rangers are beaten 4-3 by Airdrie in George Carroll’s benefit match. William Chalmers (2) and Alex Dick scored for the Ibrox side.

1927: Rangers beat Cowdenbeath 4-1 at Central Park thanks to a Jimmy Fleming hat-trick and a goal from Alan Morton.

1932: 2 Jimmy Fleming goals hands Rangers a 2-1 victory over Airdrie at Broomfield.

1934: Rangers thump Celtic 4-0 in a benefit match for Jimmy McGrory with goals scored by James Fiddes, Torry Gillick, Bobby Main and Davie Kinnear.

1938: 2 goals each from Willie Thornton and Bobby Main, and 1 from Bob McPhail hands Rangers a 5-1 win at St Mirren.

1941: Charlie Johnston and Torry Gillick are on target for Rangers at Somerset Park as the Light Blues draw 2-2 with a British Army XI in a benefit match for the Ayr County Council War Fund.

1947: Willie Thornton’s goal is all that separates Rangers and Partick Thistle at Firhill.

1952: Rangers draw 3-3 with Motherwell in the League Cup Section C. John Prentice, Willie Thornton and Willie Paton grabbed the goals for the Light Blues.

1955: Alec Smith scores for Rangers as they go down 4-1 to Celtic in the League Cup Section 4.

1958: Rangers hammer Raith 6-0 in the League Cup Section 1 thanks to a Billy Simpson hat-trick and goals from Max Murray, Johnny Hubbard and Davie Wilson.

1960: 2 goals from Ian McMillan and 1 each from Jimmy Millar and Ralph Brand gives Rangers a 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle in the League Cup Section 2.

1966: 2 goals in the last 7 minutes sees Rangers go down 3-2 to Hibs in Section 2 of the League Cup. George McLean and Alex Smith had given Rangers the lead twice.

1969: Rangers wrap up their League Cup Section 1 fixtures with a 3-0 win over Airdrie. Colin Stein, Willie Johnston and Andy Penman all score a goal each. The Gers failed to qualify from the Section.

1975: Derek Johnstone and Quinton Young score to earn Rangers a 2-1 win over Airdrie in the last match of the League Cup Section 1. The Light Blues progressed to face Queen of the South in the Quarter-Final.

1977: Rangers defeat Partick Thistle 4-0 with goals scored by Alex Miller, Gordon Smith (2) and Bobby Russell.

1980: Colin McAdam scores twice to give Rangers a 2-0 lead over Forfar in the League Cup 2nd Round 1st Leg.

1983: Dave Mitchell, Dave McKinnon, Davie Cooper and Ally McCoist are on the scoresheet as Rangers defeat Queen of the South 4-1 in the League Cup 2nd Round 2nd Leg. The Gers moved on 8-1 on aggregate and into Section 2 alongside Clydebank, Hearts and St Mirren.

1985: After going 2-0 down, goals from Davie Cooper and Bobby Williamson see Rangers comeback to take a 2-2 draw against Forfar in the 3rd Round of the League Cup. The Ibrox side won the tie 6-5 on penalties and would meet Hamilton in the Quarter-Final. That day, STV made history by announcing plans to televise the upcoming Rangers-Celtic match live, the first time that this would happen for a Scottish League match. The decision to shift the match to the Sunday angered both Clubs who were unhappy at having their fixture schedule determined by TV Executives.

1986: Following a 0-0 draw with East Fife, Rangers win 5-4 on penalties in the League Cup 3rd Round. The Gers would face Dundee in the Quarter-Final.

1988: Rangers thump Celtic 5-1 at Ibrox thanks to 2 goals from Ally McCoist and 1 eahc from Ray Wilkins, Kevin Drinkell and Mark Walters.

1994: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Celtic at Ibrox.

1997: Rangers draw 1-1 with Gothenburg in the 2nd Leg of their Champions League Preliminary Round tie. Charlie Miller had given Rangers the lead but it wasn’t enough as the Gers crashed out 4-1 on aggregate.

2000: Claudio Reyna and Billy Dodds are on target as Rangers are beaten 6-2 by Celtic.

2003: Goals from Mikel Arteta and Shota Arveladze hands Rangers a 2-1 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round 2nd Leg. The Light Blues progressed 3-2 on aggregate and were drawn into Group alongside Manchester Utd, Stuttgart and Panathinaikos.

2005: Rangers are beaten 3-0 by Hibs at Ibrox.

2006: Kris Boyd scores both goals as Rangers draw 2-2 with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Steven Naismith is on target for the Ayrshire side.

2013: Goals from Barrie McKay and Nicky Clark sees Rangers secure safe passage through the 2nd Round of the League Challenge Cup with a 2-0 win over Berwick Rangers. The Light Blues were paired with Queen of the South in the Quarter-Final.

1899: Rangers’ remarkable winning run in the League continues with a 6-2 thumping of Clyde at Shawfield. John McPherson, Tommy Hyslop (2), Alec Smith and Jacky Robertson are the only known goalscorers.

1901: John Graham scores for Rangers in their 1-1 draw with Celtic in Dan McArthur’s benefit match.

1903: John Walker and Alec Mackie score twice each as Rangers defeat Dundee 5-4 in a benefit match for the Perth Disaster Fund. James Stark was the other Light Blues goalscorer.

1916: Tommy Cairns, Scott Duncan and Robert Archibald all score 1 each as Rangers defeat Hearts 3-1 in the League at Tynecastle.

1918: The London Gazette announced that former Rangers player Finlay Speedie was to be awarded the Military Medal. Speedie, who was by now playing for Dumbarton, was honoured for courage in the field after a fierce spell of fighting on the Western Front whilst serving with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

1919: Rangers defeat Albion Rovers 3-0 at Ibrox. James Bowie put Rangers ahead before a Willie Reid brace sealed the points for the Light Blues.

1924: Rangers come from 1-0 down to beat Queen’s Park 3-1 at Hampden. A goal from Sandy Archibald and an Andy Cunningham double earned Rangers the win. Arthur Dixon also missed a penalty for the Gers.

1933: Sandy Archibald, Jimmy Smith and Bob McPhail all scored once each as Rangers beat Cowdenbeath 3-1. Future Ger Alex Venters was on target for the Blue Brazil.

1936: A Bob McPhail brace and goals from Alex Venters and Jimmy Smith secure Rangers’ Semi-Final place in the Glasgow Cup with a 4-0 1st Round victory over Queen’s Park. The Ibrox men moved on to face Celtic.

1939: After finding themselves 1-0 down inside 10 minutes, Rangers comeback to defeat Arbroath 3-1 through goals from Alex Venters, Willie Thornton and Willie Waddell.

1944: Torry Gillick and Jimmy Duncanson score a goal each as Rangers beat Partick Thistle 2-1 in the Glasgow Cup 1st Round. The Gers would face Queen’s Park in the Semi-Final.

1989: Rangers draw 1-1 with Celtic in a League match at Parkhead, Terry Butcher had Rangers in-front inside 5 minutes.

1992: Extra-Time is required as Rangers defeat Dundee Utd 3-2 in the League Cup Quarter-Final. Ally McCoist, Richard Gough and Pieter Huistra scored to set-up a Semi-Final clash with St Johnstone.

1995: Rangers kick-off the defence of their League title with a 1-0 defeat of Kilmarnock. Stuart McCall netted the winner 11 minutes from the end.

2001: Michael Mols and Fernando Ricksen score in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Dundee at Ibrox. The Gers also had Neil McCann sent-off.

2012: Andy Little is the Rangers goalscorer as they draw 1-1 with Berwick Rangers at Shielfield. Anestis Argryiou becomes Rangers’ 7th summer signing, joining on a Free Transfer from AEK Athens.

2014: Kris Boyd scores twice at New Broomfield as Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 2-1 in the League Cup 1st Round. The Gers moved on to face Inverness.

2015: Rangers thump Airdrie 5-0 in the League Cup 2nd Round. Goals from Nicky Clark, Andy Halliday, Martyn Waghorn, Dean Shiels and James Tavernier set-up a 3rd Round clash with St Johnstone.

2016: A stunning 2nd half James Tavernier sees Rangers salvage a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
