1882: Rangers are beaten 4-0 by Dumbarton in the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup 1st Round Replay at Hampden.

1886: The goalscorer is unknown from Rangers’ 1-1 draw in a Friendly with Battlefield.

1893: Rangers suffer a 3-0 loss against Celtic in a League match at Parkhead.

1896: John McPherson is on target as Rangers are beaten 3-1 by Sunderland in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1899: Neilly Gibson equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Queen’s Park in the Glasgow League at Ibrox.

1901: 2 goals from Finlay Speedie and an RG Campbell penalty earns Rangers a 3-1 win over Newcastle in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1902: Rangers are defeated 5-0 by Newcastle at Central Park in Aberdeen.

1903: Alec Smith and RC Hamilton are on target as Rangers draw 2-2 with Newcastle at Ibrox in a Friendly.

1905: Finlay Speedie and Archie Kyle get the goals as Rangers finish off their League fixtures with a 2-0 win away at Morton. The Light Blues were level on points with Celtic with the 2 sides scheduled to meet in a Glasgow League fixture 3 days later. It was decided that the match would double as a League decider, played at Hampden.

1911: Rangers defeat the 5th King’s Own Scottish Borderers 6-1 in a Friendly at Palmerston Park.  A Willie Reid double and goals from Alec Smith, Alex Bennett, Billy Hogg and Dunn sealed the victory.

1912: A goal each from Willie Reid and Alex Bennett earns Rangers a 2-1 win over Partick Thistle in a benefit match for the widows of Glasgow Juniors players Hyslop and Smith.

1916: Rangers wrap up their League fixtures with a 0-0 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. The Gers ended the campaign in 2nd, 11 points behind Celtic.

1919: Sandy Archibald and James Pursell score twice each as Rangers beat Everton 4-0 in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1922: Rangers complete their League fixtures with a 0-0 draw against Clyde at Shawfield. The Light Blues ended the season runners-up to Celtic, a single point behind the Parkhead side.

1933: Rangers seal the League title with a 4-2 triumph over Hamilton at Douglas Park. Goals from Bob McPhail (2), Dr Jimmy Marshall and Jimmy Fleming saw the Gers avert disaster and clinch yet another Championship.

1936: Bob McPhail and Alex Venters score as Rangers are beaten 3-2 at home by Aberdeen in the final League game of the season. The Ibrox side ended the campaign in 2nd, 5 points behind Celtic.

1939: Rangers suffer a 2-0 defeat at Aberdeen on the final day of the season. The Light Blues already had the Title secured and ended the season 11 points clear of Celtic in 2nd.

1944: Rangers beat Celtic 4-2 in the Semi-Final of the Southern League Cup at Hampden thanks to goals from Jimmy Duncanson (2) and Jimmy Smith (2). George Young also missed a penalty as the Gers set-up a Final clash with Hibs.

1950: 101,000 fill Ibrox to witness Rangers raw 0-0 with Hibs. The Gers’ Iron Curtain defence held firm against the Famous Five attack of the Edinburgh side, leaving the Light Blues requiring a single point to tie up the League Title.

1953: Billy Simpson scores the only goal as Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Final Replay at Hampden. The triumph was Rangers’ 14th in the Competition and proved to be the last time that the Trophy would be won by Bill Struth.

1957: Rangers see out the League Championship with a 4-3 victory away at Dunfermline on the final day of the season. 2nd half goals from Alex Scott (2), Johnny Hubbard and Billy Simpson handed the Light Blues the requisite win to secure their 30th League Title, finishing 2 points clear of Hearts.

1961: Rangers win the League with a final day victory over Ayr Utd 7-3 courtesy of goals from Alex Scott (3), Davie Wilson (2) and Ralph Brand (2). The Gers took the Title with a single point from Willie Waddell’s Kilmarnock. One of Scott’s goals was Rangers’ 5,000th in League competition.

1963: Despite going ahead through Davie Wilson, Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw by Motherwell at Ibrox.

1964: Rangers conclude their League matches with a 1-0 loss away at St Johnstone. The Gers already had the Title sewn up and ended the campaign 6 points clear of Kilmarnock. This would be the last time that the Championship would go back to Ibrox for 11 years.

1967: Alex Willoughby equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Dundee at Dens Park.

1972: Derek Johnstone is on the mark as Rangers are beaten 2- by Hibs at Ibrox.

1974: A Graham Fyfe double and a goal from Quinton Young secures a 3-2 win for Rangers over Dundee at Dens Park on the final day of the season. The Gers finished in 3rd place, 11 points behind winners Celtic.

1978: Early goals from Colin Jackson and Gordon Smith hands Rangers a 2-0 victory and the League Title in the final fixture of the season, at Ibrox. The Light Blues finished 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Aberdeen.

1986: Ally McCoist makes his Scotland debut in a 0-0 Friendly draw with Holland in Eindhoven.

1989: Rangers win the first League Championship of 9 in a row with a 4-0 victory at Ibrox over Hearts. Mel Sterland and Kevin Drinkell scored twice each as the Gers secured the Title with 3 games to spare.

1991: Goals from Ian Durrant (2), John Morrow and John Spencer aren’t enough for Rangers who are beaten 6-4 by Brechin at Glebe Park in a Testimonial match for Dougie Scott.

1995: Rangers are beaten 2-0 at home by Motherwell.

2001: Rangers suffer a 3-0 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox.

2006: Rangers come from behind to beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Rugby Park thanks to 2 goals from Marvin Andrews and 1 from Kris Boyd.

1877: Rangers are beaten 4-0 by Queen’s Park for the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup, at Hampden. The Trophy had been put up by Glasgow Merchants in an attempt to patch up relations between Scotland’s 2 biggest Clubs, Vale of Leven and Queen’s Park, who had met in a particularly feisty Scottish Cup Semi-Final. The Vale point-blank refused the invitation and as beaten finalists of the Scottish Cup, Rangers were asked to fill in. Later the Tournament would be opened up to more competitors and was an annual fixture of the Scottish Football Calendar until 1960.

1888: The goalscorers remain unknown from Rangers’ 6-0 thrashing of Scottish Corinthians in the Dunfermline Charity Cup at Ladysmill, Fife.

1894: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Queen’s Park in the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup 1st Round at Hampden.

1897: Rangers defeat Clyde 4-0 in a Glasgow League fixture at Ibrox with goals scored by Jim Miller, Tommy Hyslop, Alec Smith and George McNicholl.

1923: A Tommy Cairns brace and a goal from Geordie Henderson sees Rangers wrap up their League matches with a 3-0 triumph at Ibrox against Hearts. The Gers had already won the League Title and finished 5 points clear of 2nd placed Airdrie.

1924: Tully Craig grabs the winner in Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Ayr Utd in a benefit match for Phil McCloy at Somerset Park.

1928: League Champions Rangers complete their fixtures with a 1-1 draw against Bo’ness Utd at Newtown Park. Andy Cunningham levelled for the Light Blues with 15 minutes remaining. Bo’ness held the distinction until this season (Ross County), to be the only side that Rangers have ever met in League action and who they’ve never managed to beat away from home. This proved to be Utd’s only season in the Scottish top division. The Ibrox men ended the campaign 5 points in-front of closest-challengers Celtic.

1934: Rangers beat Hamilton 4-2 at Ibrox with goals coming from Willie Nicholson, Davie Meiklejohn, Jimmy Smith and Alex Venters.

1942: David Marshall and D.Grant score a goal each as Rangers beat Albion Rovers 2-1 in the final match of the Southern League at Ibrox. The Title had already been clinched by the Light Blues and finished 8 points ahead of Hibs in 2nd.

1945: Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 1-0 in the 1st Round of the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup. Alex Venters’ goal proves decisive as the Gers progress to face Clyde in the Semi-Final.

1951: Rangers finish their League fixtures with a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Hibs. Billy Simpson pulled a goal back in the final minutes for the Ibrox side. The Light Blues finished runners-up, level on points with Dundee who had an inferior Goal Average, to the Easter Road Club, a whole 10 points adrift.

1956: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Clyde in the final League game of the season, at Ibrox. The Championship had already been sealed and the Gers finished 6 points clear of Aberdeen in 2nd.

1958: Max Murray grabs the only goal as Rangers defeat St Mirren 1-0 at Ibrox.

1962: Rangers end their League matches with a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock at Ibrox. Davie Wilson levelled for the home side. The Light Blues finished 2nd in the Table, 3 points off winners Dundee.

1987: Rangers win 5-4 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw with Clyde in the 1st Round of the Glasgow Cup at Firhill. John Spencer was on the scoresheet for the Gers who moved on to play Celtic in the Final.

1990: Goals from Ally McCoist and Davie Dodds earns Rangers a 2-0 win over Dunfermline at Ibrox.

1992: Despite going ahead through Ally McCoist, Rangers are forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Hearts at Ibrox.

1996: 8 in a row is sealed as Rangers come from 1-0 down to beat Aberdeen 3-1 at Ibrox thanks to a stunning Paul Gascoigne hat-trick.

1998: Rangers come from 2 down to earn a 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Ibrox in a Testimonial match for Ian Durrant. Durrant and Jorg Albertz netted for the home side.

1918: James Young scores for Rangers who are beaten 3-1 by Morton in the Army & Navy War Relief Fund Shield Semi-Final, at Ibrox.

1920: Jimmy Bowie and Davie Meiklejohn are on the mark as Rangers defeat Third Lanark 2-0 at Cathkin Park. The victory put the Light Blues within touching distance of the Title, and gave them the chance to seal it the following day at Dumbarton.

1921: Rangers draw 0-0 with Hearts at Ibrox.

1925: Geordie Henderson grabs the winner as Rangers defeat Newcastle Utd 1-0 at Ibrox in a benefit match for James Walls. The match was used to experiment the 40-yard offside rule, following a particularly low-scoring season especially in matches involving the Magpies.

1927: Rangers beat Ayr Utd 4-1 in a Friendly at Somerset Park in a benefit match for Tom Kilpatrick with goals scored by James Hair, Robert Ireland and William Chalmers (2). David Weir also scored an OG.

1929: Rangers round off a hugely successful League campaign with a 3-0 home victory over Dundee. Bob McPhail, Jimmy Fleming and Dr Jimmy Marshall all grabbed a goal each for the Light Blues. The Championship had been long since secured and the Gers finished a whole 16 points ahead of Celtic, losing just 1 of their 38 matches.

1932: Davie Meiklejohn nets the only goal as Rangers beat Hamilton 1-0 at Ibrox.

1935: Jimmy Smith pulls a goal back as Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Hamilton at Douglas Park.

1937: Jimmy Smith levels up as Rangers draw 1-1 with an Irish League Select in a benefit match for Distillery at Windsor Park.

1940: Rangers seal the Western Division Title with a 5-1 thrashing of Queen of the South in at Ibrox. A Jimmy Smith hat-trick and goals from Willie Thornton and Ian McPherson saw the Light Blues tie up the first Wartime League Championship. Rangers had been top of the Scottish League when it was suspended after just 5 games.

1946: Rangers defeat Hearts 2-1 AET in the Semi-Final of the Southern League Cup, at Hampden. Willie Thornton equalised after the Gers had gone behind inside the first minute. Torry Gillick then scored the winner in Extra-Time as the Ibrox side set-up a Final with Aberdeen.

1957: Rangers beat Queen of the South 3-0 at Palmerston Park. Johnny Hubbard opened the scoring prior to Max Murray netting a double. The win was enough to seal the League Championship for Scot Symon’s side who had looked to have been out of the race after a 1-0 defeat to Ayr. That loss was to be the last the Gers would suffer as they overhauled Hearts to retain the Title for the first time under Symon.

1960: Ralph Bran scores a penalty in Rangers’ 4-1 defeat to Clyde at Shawfield. The visitors found themselves 4-0 down after just 32 minutes before Brand’s penalty on the 43rd minute.

1963: Rangers beat Hearts 5-1 at Ibrox with goals scored by Jim Baxter (2), Holt (OG), Ralph Brand and Davie Wilson.

1966: Kai Johansen’s wonder-goal proves to decisive as Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 in the Replayed Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

1968: Rangers are beaten 3-2 by Aberdeen in the final match of the season. Dave Smith and Alex Ferguson were on target for the Light Blues. Davie White’s men had held top spot in the League Table with 3 games to go when a draw with Morton saw the advantage turn-over to European Champions Celtic, who had a superior Goal Average. This loss was confirmation that the Gers would finish in 2nd, 2 points behind the Parkhead side.

1972: Alex MacDonald (2) and Colin Stein score as Rangers suffer a 4-3 loss to Dunfermline at Dunfermline.

1974: Rangers beat Dumbarton 3-1 in the penultimate League fixture of the season. Graham Fyfe had given the Gers the lead before Ally Scott netted a double.

1985: Rangers defeat Hearts 3-1 at Ibrox courtesy of goals from Ally McCoist, Robert Prytz and Davie Cooper.

2002: Neil McCann and Barry Ferguson score as Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Ibrox.

2003: Ronald de Boer grabs a goal as Rangers are beaten 2-1 by Celtic at Ibrox.

2008: Goals from Davie Weir and Daniel Cousin aren’t enough to prevent Rangers from slipping to a 3-2 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead. The Gers had Steven Whittaker sent-off.

2011: New Ibrox anthem Penny Arcade, written by Sammy King and made famous by Roy Orbison, rose to the top of the HMV download charts following a campaign to get the song to no.1 by Rangers fans.

2013: Rangers beat East Stirling 4-2 at Ochilview thanks to goals from Robbie Crawford, David Templeton (2) and Ian Black.

1879: The Rangers players enjoy a day out at Ayr Races, fulfilling their threat not to take part in a Replay in the Scottish Cup Final with Vale of Leven. The Alexandria side had turned up at Hampden but there was no sign of the Light Blues. Rangers had threatened not to appear as they had been so incensed at a disallowed goal in the original tie. The Club’s 2nd Scottish Cup Final ended with Vale of Leven being awarded the Cup.

1887: The goalscorers remain unknown from Rangers’ 4-2 Friendly victory over Shettleston.

1889: Jimmy Oswald scores in Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Blackburn in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1893: Neil Kerr and Andrew McCreadie are on target as Rangers are beaten 6-2 at Ibrox in a Friendly by Sunderland.

1897: Sadly, the goalscorers are untraced from Rangers’ 2-1 victory over Dumbarton Athletic in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1947: Willie Thornton is on the mark as Rangers suffer a 2-1 defeat away in a Friendly against Manchester City.

1948: First half goals from John McPherson and Sammy Cox earns Rangers a 2-1 victory over Clyde at Ibrox.

1954: Derek Grierson and Willie Paton score as Rangers complete their League fixture programme with a 2-2 draw with Hibs at Easter Road. The Gers finished in 4th spot, 9 points off winners Celtic in Bill Struth’s final campaign as Rangers Manager.

1958: Rangers thump Aberdeen 5-0 thanks to a Max Murray hat-trick and a double from Ralph Brand.

1969: Rangers are beaten 4-0 by Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final. This match spelled the end of the Ibrox career of Alex Ferguson, who was thought to be responsible for the first goal and eventually moved to Falkirk, teaming up with former Ger John Prentice as player-coach.

1975: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Airdrie in the final game of the League season at Ibrox. The Light Blues’ first League Title in 11 years had already been tied up and the Gers finished 7 points ahead of runners-up Hibs.

1976: Rangers draw 0-0 with Celtic at Parkhead. The League Title had been clinched by the Ibrox men 2 days previously at Tannadice.

1891: Rangers beat Dumbarton 4-2 in a vital League match at Ibrox, courtesy of goals from Andrew McCreadie, David Hislop, Neil Kerr and John McPherson. The Gers had started the day 2 points behind the Sons, with a game in hand.

1896: Goals from John McNeish (2), Jimmy Oswald and Neilly Gibson earns Rangers a 4-1 victory over Hibs in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1900: Rangers draw 4-4 with Third Lanark in the Inter-City League at Cathkin Park. Alec Smith (2), Tommy Hyslop and John McPherson all scored for the Light Blues.

1903: Rangers lift the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 victory in the 2nd Replay of the Final over Hearts. RC Hamilton and Alec Mackie get the goals as the Ibrox side win the Cup for the last time in 25 years.

1904: The goalscorers remain unknown as Rangers defeat Yoker Athletic 3-0 in a Friendly at Holm Park.

1906: Rangers thump a Border Counties XI 6-0 in a Friendly. Unfortunately, the goalscorers remain unknown.

1908: Rangers conclude their League fixtures with a 1-0 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox. Alex Bennett, who scored the only goal, would join the Ibrox men just a month later. The Gers finished in 3rd, 5 points behind winners Celtic.

1914: Rangers narrowly defeat Hearts 3-2 at Ibrox in the final League match of the season. James Logan opened the scoring, before Alec Smith scored a double in the final quarter of the game to take a victory. The Light Blues ended the season in 2nd, 6 points behind Celtic.

1922: Celtic legend Patsy Gallacher equalises for Rangers as they draw 1-1 with Newcastle in benefit match for Andy Cunningham at Ibrox. Gallacher had been guested for the Ibrox side.

1923: A Carl Hansen double, and a goal from Andy Cunningham, seals a 3-0 Friendly victory over a Wigtownshire XI at Helm Park.

1925: Billy McCandless scores the only goal after 12 minutes as Rangers beat Ayr 1-0 in the final League match of the season at Ibrox. The Championship had already been won, the Gers finishing 3 points clear of 2nd placed Falkirk, and 16 from Celtic in 4th.

1931: Rangers secure the League title with a final day 4-0 victory over East Fife thanks to goals from Bob McPhail, Jimmy Smith, Dr Jimmy Marshall and Sandy Archibald. The win at Bayview saw the Gers end 2 points ahead of runners-up Celtic.

1932: Rangers suffer a 3-0 defeat to Airdrie at Broomfield.

1934: Rangers tie-up their 21st League title with a 3-1 triumph over Falkirk at Brockville. A Jimmy Smith double and a goal from Dr Jimmy Marshall secures the Championship with 2 matches to spare.

1936: Goals from Davie Kinnear, Alex Venters and Archie McAuley earns Rangers a 3-0 away win at Kilmarnock. McAuley also missed a penalty.

1942: Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 1-0 in the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup 1st Round at Hampden. Jimmy Smith’s goal set-up a Semi-Final with Celtic.

1949: Willie Thornton’s 13th minute goal secures a 1-0 victory for Rangers against Morton at Love Street. The match was a home fixture for the Ton, but was played at the Paisley ground.

1951: Billy Simpson scores 4 times in the 1st Half as Rangers thrash Third Lanark 5-1 at Cathkin Park. Eddie Rutherford added a 5th for the away side in the 2nd period.

1952: Willie Gardiner and John Prentice are on target as Rangers defeat an Inverness Select in a Friendly at Grant Street Park.

1953: Rangers draw 1-1 with Aberdeen in the Final of the Scottish Cup in-front of 129,762 people at Hampden. John Prentice opened the scoring for the Light Blues inside 8 minutes. After an injury to George Niven, George Young was forced to go in-goal for Rangers for much of the match.

1956: Rangers suffer a 1-0 loss away at Dunfermline.

1960: Davie Wilson equalises to salvage a 1-1 draw for Rangers against St Mirren in Paisley.

1961: 2 goals from George McLean and 1 from Alex Scott aren’t enough to stop Rangers from falling to a 4-3 defeat to Clyde in the 1st Round of the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup. This would be Rangers’ last match in the Competition, as the format was changed for the following season due to a lack of interest. Since it’s inception in 1877, the Gers had won it 30 times, a number which includes the very first Trophy won by the Club in 1879.

1962: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

1964: Rangers secure their 2nd Treble with a dramatic 3-1 victory over Dundee in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. Jimmy Millar put the League Champions ahead after 71 minutes, but 2 goals in the very final minutes from Millar and Ralph Brand were required to bring the Cup back to Ibrox. Brand’s goal earned him the honour of being the only player to score in 3 successive Finals in the competition. A record which still stands today.

1979: Rangers are defeated 2-1 away at Aberdeen. Gordon Smith had levelled for the visitors.

1981: Despite going ahead through Bobby Russell, Rangers can only draw 1-1 with Partick Thistle at Firhill.

1987: Ally McCoist grabs a hat-trick to give Rangers a 3-0 victory over Hearts at Ibrox.

1998: A Rino Gattuso brace and a goal from Jorg Albertz seals a 3-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle. The Gers had Craig Moore sent-off.

1999: Rangers come from behind to defeat Aberdeen 3-1 at Ibrox with goals scored by Gabriel Amato, Andrei Kanchelskis and Rod Wallace.

2009: Andrius Velicka, Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller all score as Rangers beat St Mirren 3-0 at Hampden in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final. Falkirk would provide the opposition in the Final.

2010: Rangers seal their 53rd League Championship with a 1-0 victory over Hibs at Easter Road. Kyle Lafferty’s goal secured the title with 3 matches still to play.

2015: Late goals from Haris Vuckic and Nicky Law earns Rangers a 2-2 draw at home with Falkirk in the penultimate League match of the season.

1888: Rangers defeat Vale of Leven 5-3 in the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup 1st Round Replay, at Hampden. Goals from T.Nicoll (2), William Aird (2) and Alick McKenzie set-up a Semi-Final with Renton. This match ended 10 minutes early to allow the Vale players to catch the last train back to Alexandria!

1892: Robert Scott and John McPherson are on target as Rangers are beaten 3-2 by Hearts in a League match in Edinburgh.

1898: Rangers beat Third Lanark 3-1 in the Glasgow League at Ibrox with goals scored by Neilly Gibson, RC Hamilton and Jim Miller.

1924: Sandy Archibald equalises at Old Trafford as Rangers draw 1-1 with Manchester Utd in a Friendly.

1927: Rangers secure the League Title with a 0-0 home draw with Dundee.

1932: Dr Jimmy Marshall levels up with a penalty as Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw away at Clyde. The result was enough to see Motherwell crowned League Champions.

1941: Rangers defeat the RAF 3-2 for the Sir Archibald Sinclair Cup at Ibrox. Goals from Alex Venters, Charlie Johnstone and Jimmy Smith saw the Gers win the competition arranged for the Clydebank Air-Raid Distress Fund.

1949: Rangers complete the 2nd part of what would become Scottish Football’s first Treble. Goals from George Young (2), Billy Williamson and Jimmy Duncanson earned the Light Blues a 4-1 victory over Clyde in the Final of the Scottish Cup, at Hampden.

1952: John Prentice is the Rangers goalscorer in their 1-1 draw with Elgin in a benefit match for Johnny Logie and Stuart McLachlan.

1958: A Jimmy Millar brace and a goal from Sammy Baird gives Rangers a 3-1 win against Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park.

1960: Rangers defeat Willie Waddell’s Kilmarnock 2-0 in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. Jimmy Millar scores both goals as the Light Blue secured their place in the inaugural European Cup for domestic Cup winners. Eric Caldow also missed a penalty. The victory would prove vital as the Gers had begun to lose their grip on the Scottish League title and were on the verge of exiting the European Cup, guaranteeing continental competition for the next season.

1965: Rangers wrap up their League fixtures with a 1-0 victory over Third Lanark in what was the Ibrox Club’s last ever trip to Cathkin Park. Ralph Brand scores the winner against the Redcoats who were relegated and later wound-up within 2 years.

1966: Rangers draw 0-0 with Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden, in-front of a crowd of 126,599.

1977: Derek Johnstone nets the decisive goal as Rangers defeat Dundee Utd 1-0 at Tannadice.

1980: Rangers are beaten 1-0 by Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

1983: John McDonald and Ian Redford are on the scoresheet to seal a 2-0 win for Rangers over Morton at Ibrox.

1988: A goal each from Mark Walters, John Brown and Ally McCoist hands Rangers a 3-0 victory over St Mirren at Love Street.

1940: Bob McPhail grabs the decisive goal 5 minutes from time as Rangers beat Third Lanark 1-0 at Cathkin Park. Willie Woodburn also missed a penalty for the visitors.

1946: Rangers defeat Stenhousemuir 4-1 in the 2nd Leg of their Victory Cup 1st Round tie. Goals from Billy Arnison (2), Charlie Johnstone and Billy Williamson saw the Gers triumph 8-2 on aggregate and progressed tom play Airdrie in the 2nd Round.

1950: Rangers win their 3rd Scottish Cup in a row with a 3-0 victory over East Fife in the Final at Hampden. Willie Findlay put the Gers ahead inside the first minute before Willie Thornton netted a brace. East Fife, guided by future Rangers Manager Scot Symon, had already won the League Cup that season defeating the Gers at the Semi-Final stage.

1957: Rangers defeat Queen’s Park 6-4 in a quite remarkable match at Hampden. The Light Blues found themselves 4-1 down, with Max Murray scoring for the visitors, after just 40 minutes! A Johnny Hubbard double saw the Gers reduce the deficit to a single goal by half-time. 2nd half goals from Murray, Billy Simpson and Alex Scott earned the Light Blues a stunning 6-4 victory.

1967: Rangers draw 1-1 with Clyde at Ibrox. Davie Wilson had given the Light Blues the lead.

1969: John Greig and Willie Henderson score as Rangers suffer a 3-2 loss to Dundee at Dens Park.
