1899: Neilly Gibson equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Queen’s Park in the Glasgow League at Ibrox.
1901: 2 goals from Finlay Speedie and an RG Campbell penalty earns Rangers a 3-1 win over Newcastle in a Friendly at Ibrox.
1902: Rangers are defeated 5-0 by Newcastle at Central Park in Aberdeen.
1903: Alec Smith and RC Hamilton are on target as Rangers draw 2-2 with Newcastle at Ibrox in a Friendly.
1905: Finlay Speedie and Archie Kyle get the goals as Rangers finish off their League fixtures with a 2-0 win away at Morton. The Light Blues were level on points with Celtic with the 2 sides scheduled to meet in a Glasgow League fixture 3 days later. It was decided that the match would double as a League decider, played at Hampden.
1911: Rangers defeat the 5th King’s Own Scottish Borderers 6-1 in a Friendly at Palmerston Park. A Willie Reid double and goals from Alec Smith, Alex Bennett, Billy Hogg and Dunn sealed the victory.
1912: A goal each from Willie Reid and Alex Bennett earns Rangers a 2-1 win over Partick Thistle in a benefit match for the widows of Glasgow Juniors players Hyslop and Smith.
1916: Rangers wrap up their League fixtures with a 0-0 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. The Gers ended the campaign in 2nd, 11 points behind Celtic.
1919: Sandy Archibald and James Pursell score twice each as Rangers beat Everton 4-0 in a Friendly at Ibrox.
1922: Rangers complete their League fixtures with a 0-0 draw against Clyde at Shawfield. The Light Blues ended the season runners-up to Celtic, a single point behind the Parkhead side.
1933: Rangers seal the League title with a 4-2 triumph over Hamilton at Douglas Park. Goals from Bob McPhail (2), Dr Jimmy Marshall and Jimmy Fleming saw the Gers avert disaster and clinch yet another Championship.
1936: Bob McPhail and Alex Venters score as Rangers are beaten 3-2 at home by Aberdeen in the final League game of the season. The Ibrox side ended the campaign in 2nd, 5 points behind Celtic.
1939: Rangers suffer a 2-0 defeat at Aberdeen on the final day of the season. The Light Blues already had the Title secured and ended the season 11 points clear of Celtic in 2nd.
1944: Rangers beat Celtic 4-2 in the Semi-Final of the Southern League Cup at Hampden thanks to goals from Jimmy Duncanson (2) and Jimmy Smith (2). George Young also missed a penalty as the Gers set-up a Final clash with Hibs.
1950: 101,000 fill Ibrox to witness Rangers raw 0-0 with Hibs. The Gers’ Iron Curtain defence held firm against the Famous Five attack of the Edinburgh side, leaving the Light Blues requiring a single point to tie up the League Title.
1953: Billy Simpson scores the only goal as Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Final Replay at Hampden. The triumph was Rangers’ 14th in the Competition and proved to be the last time that the Trophy would be won by Bill Struth.
1957: Rangers see out the League Championship with a 4-3 victory away at Dunfermline on the final day of the season. 2nd half goals from Alex Scott (2), Johnny Hubbard and Billy Simpson handed the Light Blues the requisite win to secure their 30th League Title, finishing 2 points clear of Hearts.
1961: Rangers win the League with a final day victory over Ayr Utd 7-3 courtesy of goals from Alex Scott (3), Davie Wilson (2) and Ralph Brand (2). The Gers took the Title with a single point from Willie Waddell’s Kilmarnock. One of Scott’s goals was Rangers’ 5,000th in League competition.
1963: Despite going ahead through Davie Wilson, Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw by Motherwell at Ibrox.
1964: Rangers conclude their League matches with a 1-0 loss away at St Johnstone. The Gers already had the Title sewn up and ended the campaign 6 points clear of Kilmarnock. This would be the last time that the Championship would go back to Ibrox for 11 years.
1967: Alex Willoughby equalises as Rangers draw 1-1 with Dundee at Dens Park.
1972: Derek Johnstone is on the mark as Rangers are beaten 2- by Hibs at Ibrox.
1974: A Graham Fyfe double and a goal from Quinton Young secures a 3-2 win for Rangers over Dundee at Dens Park on the final day of the season. The Gers finished in 3rd place, 11 points behind winners Celtic.
1978: Early goals from Colin Jackson and Gordon Smith hands Rangers a 2-0 victory and the League Title in the final fixture of the season, at Ibrox. The Light Blues finished 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Aberdeen.
