1878: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Vale of Leven in a Friendly.

1889: Donald Gow scores for Rangers as they draw 1-1 with Celtic in a Friendly.

1895: Rangers thump St Mirren 7-1 in a League match thanks to 4 goals from Alec Smith and 1 each from James Oswald, John McPherson and Hugh McCreadie.

1901: Rangers draw 2-2 with Celtic at Ibrox. Finlay Speedie and Bobby Neil were on target for the home side. James Stark also scored an OG.

1903: Sadly, the goalscorers remain unknown from Rangers’ 7-1 Friendly win at Alloa.

1907: John McDonald is the Rangers goalscorer as the Light Blues go down 2-1 at home to Airdrie.

1912: 2 goals from Willie Reid and 1 from Andrew Brown sees Rangers come from 1 down to seal a 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

1918: Rangers lift another Glasgow Cup, with a 2-0 win in the Final against Celtic. Jimmy Gordon and William Aitken got the goals for the Gers.

1929: Rangers are beaten 2-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle.

1935: Rangers ease to a 6-2 victory over Dunfermline courtesy of goals from Bob McPhail (2), Torry Gillick (2), Alex Venters and Bobby Main.

1940: Charlie Johnston and Alex Venters grab a goal each to hand Rangers a 2-0 win over Hamilton at Ibrox.

1946: Goals from Jimmy Duncanson, Jimmy Caskie and Willie Thornton hands Rangers a 3-0 win over Morton in the League Cup Section B.

1954: A Derek Grierson brace and a goal from Willie Waddell earns Rangers a 3-0 win over a British Army XI in a Friendly at Ibrox.

1963: George McLean nets a hat-trick as Rangers defeat Falkirk 4-0. Willie Henderson is the other scorer.

1966: Rangers beat Glentoran 4-0 in the European Cup Winners’ Cup 1st Round 2nd Leg. Goals from Willie Johnston, Dave Smith, Denis Setterington and George McLean completes a 5-1 aggregate win. The Light Blues would face Borussia Dortmund in the 2nd Round.

1968: Orjan Persson and Willie Johnston score once each to see the Gers come from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Falkirk.

1974: Tom Forsyth and Bobby McKean get the goals as Rangers beat Morton 2-0 at Ibrox.

1977: Rangers ease to a 6-1 victory over Aberdeen in the League Cup 3rd Round 1st Leg, at Ibrox, thanks to goals from Gordon Smith (3), Derek Johnstone, Alex Miller and Alex MacDonald.

1983: Rangers thump St Mirren 5-0 in the League Cup Section 2 with goals coming from Sandy Clark, Ally McCoist (2), John McClelland and Craig Paterson. Robert Prtyz also missed a penalty.

1985: An Ally McCoist double and a goal from Dave McPherson secures a 3-0 win for Rangers away at Motherwell.

1988: Rangers beat Katowice 4-2 in the UEFA Cup 1st Round 2nd Leg. Terry Butcher scored twice with Ian Durrant and Ian Ferguson also on target. The Gers progressed 5-2 on aggregate and would meet Cologne in the 2nd Round.

1991: Rangers beat Airdrie 4-1 with goals scored by Mo Johnston, Ally McCoist (2) and Scott Nisbet.

2008: Rangers are defeated 1-0 by St Mirren in Paisley.
